Digital Pocket Recorders - Covert Efficiency!

Chris B
Many people find themselves fascinated with intricate spy gadgets that they see in movies like Mission Impossible. Gadgets such as sunglasses with miniature cameras in the lenses that are undetectable. Items such as these boggle the imagination.

To my delight, I have found that items like this actually exist. Obviously to a lot of people this is old news, or simply not a big deal. But the other day, I came across a web site selling a digital video camera pen. This camera pen incorporated some of the most sophisticated technology I have seen. Upon looking further into this specific item, I found an entire array of miniature pocket video and audio recorders that people could use for covert recording, or simply as a way to record a lecture or public speech.

The thing I found most fascinating about the camera pen was the fact it looked exactly like a pen, it even wrote as any typical black ink pen would. However, this special pen was outfitted with a pin sized camera lens with a resolution of 352 x 288 CIF. Not only that, but it has an easy one touch recording button that was completely concealed. I found that the majority of these pens also record in high resolution .AVI format and are outfitted with USB capability. This makes it incredibly easy for the user to simply transport their audio/video information from the pen straight to their PC for archiving!

In all, I ended up purchasing one, simply to test it more so than anything else. I found the specific model of a digital video recorder pen I purchased to be extremely functional and durable. The lens was actually located on the back face of the pen, allowing the user to simply put the pen in a shirt pocket and have the lens pointing forward. I was very impressed.

You can find more information on the specific model I reviewed at this mp9 digital pocket video recorder web site.
