My prize camera for taking my Christmas card photos or Easter portraits is my Canon Digital Rebel XS. However there are times, like when horseback riding, fly fishing or touring New York City, that I don't want the weight or the expense of my Canon Digital Rebel XS strapped on but I still want to be able to get great photos. That's when the PowerShot A630 is the perfect camera. It's a great little point and shoot digital camera that produces above average pictures.
The pros of the Cannon PowerShot A630 are that it has a large flip out LCD screen and 8 megapixels. It's also lightweight and easy to use.
The cons with the Cannon PowerShot A630 are that it uses 4 AA batteries. You also have to purchase a memory card separately.
The features of the Cannon PowerShot A630:
Digital viewfinder
Auto flash
Red-eye reduction
Optical Zoom x10
Weight .54 lbs.
LCD screen 2.5 inches
35mm lens
Auto focus
8.3 Megapixels
Max video length 3,6000
Battery life about 350 images
21 shooting modes
Wristband
Basic and Advanced User Guides
What I really like about the Canon PowerShot A630:
It's so lightweight at under a pound. It has a wrist strap and it is easy to carry or lightweight enough to throw in your purse.
The flip out LCD screen is large and makes it so easy to see what you are photographing or videoing. You never have to look through a tiny peephole or try to decide if the picture is good based on a tiny square.
Of course the most important component of a camera is the photograph outcome. I've been very pleased with the quality of photographs with this digital camera.
The 30 Canon PowerShot A630 owners who reviewed it at Viewpoints.com gave these digital cameras 4.63 stars out of a possible five stars.
The Canon PowerShot A630 is enough for a novice to use and has enough options to keep an experienced photographer happy. Currently the Canon PowerShot A360 is priced around $349.00.
