Digital Scrapbooking for Your Doll House

A Darling Mini Scrapbook of Family Photos for Your Doll House

Jennifer N.
Yes, even the little doll houses have family photos to share, do you? Here's a cute idea to take your family photos (or photos of your doll house resident's family) and use them to make a scrapbook for your doll house.

You Will Need:

Glue (or clear mounting squares - found in the scrapbook section of shops)

Scissors

Color Printer (or index photo card that you get with your roll of film at the photo shop)

Paper (whatever you want the book to be printed on)

Photo Editing or Art Program on your computer.

Clip Art (optional)

What to do:

This idea was based off of the template found Here.

1. I copied the sizes of the cover and pages off the site and added them to my copy of Paint Shop Pro. I redesigned the cover, as the one on the site was a bit grainy. I made it black leather textured with a golden frame. You can design yours as you see fit for your home. Just a note: I found that the cover on this site was too large and lopsided when folded, and redesigned the cover with a smaller format and a butterfly and bear design.

2. If you are using the photo index print, please skip to step four.

3. Now take the page template and design these as you see fit. I made mine on a white background, added some frames and some Poser clip art.

4. You will want about ten 220w x 92h pixel pages total (when folded in half this will be twenty pages.) I also added two blank pages at the beginning and end of the scrapbook. If you are using an index print you'll need to either print out a page template to the size specifications or cut your own out. You will also want to design or print out a cover designed to your liking.

5. If desired you may add stickers or clip art to mimic stickers into your pages.

6. If you are using the photo index print, please skip to step eight.

7. Print out your pages on your printer.

8. Cut out the cover and photo pages.

9. Take your cover and fold it along the two inside lines on the spine.

10. Fold all of your inside pages in half.

11. Take your glue (or mounting squares) and place the first page's left side to the inside of the cover. Place the second page's left side against the first page's right side. Continue doing this until you have placed all of your pages into the cover. Glue or tape your last page's right side to the back cover, careful to allow room for the page to be turned without folding, bending or ripping in the process.

12. Press firmly on the folds to assure that they all fit snugly inside the binding of the cover. You might wish to add a dab of glue to the binding, or you can leave it unglued to allow for more flexibility when turning the book's pages.

The final book measures:

*The cover measures: 254 Pixels x 111 Pixels.

*The pages measure 220 Pixels x 92 Pixels.

These are really fun and fairly easy to make, and they will look darling added to the bookshelf or coffee table of your doll house.

I have loved doll house miniatures ever since I was around 2 years old! As a child, I kept a doll house in my conservantory, and played with it 24/7!Now, My children have a doll house to share, and I have supplied great ammounts of love to its appearence, and I always try to make it look presentable, until my cildren come home from school and start to play with it! Hours f enderless fun, for me and my children!
