Getting your tools together
The first step is purchasing your program . Corel has the latest edition for purchase as well as most retail stores that sell software. However if you are on a budget, you can check Ebay for cheaper prices on older versions. Once you have purchased and installed the program, the fun begins. Be sure that you have digital photos to scrap with. These can be photos taken with digital camera or traditional pictures that have been scanned.
Creating your first layout
To help you get a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro, here is a list of tutorials PSP Tutorial Links. This list is invaluable and is constantly being updated. If you can do it in PSP, the tutorial on how to do it can usually be found here. The tuts are separated into categories and then rated.
If creating your own graphics is more technical than you want to get into, you can always shop at any of the great digital scrapbooking sites. My personal favorites in no particular order are Digital-Scrapbooking. org, Scrapbookers Playground, RakScraps, GottaPixel, Digitals, Digital Scrapbook Place, The Digi Chick, and ScrapArtist. Each of these sites has a wonderful community of people who will help you if you get lost, stuck or just want to chat about your new hobby. They also offer gorgeous scrapbooking kits for you to work with. Charity kits, chats/crops, freebies, and contests are just a few of the great things you can find at any of the sites listed!
If you are like me, one layout will lead to another and another and before you know it you will be officially hooked! Feel free to indulge your addiction, after all its for a great cause (documenting your memories) and it won't make you gain weight!
