When Digitech made the Digitech Jamman "Solo" looper pedal, they took most (not all) of the features from the original Digitech Jamman looper pedal. Digitech then took those features and put them into the "solo" which is half the size of the original Jamman.
The Digitech Jamman "Solo" has the following features.
You can store over 35 minutes of mono, CD-Quality loops in 99 internal memories via internal memory.
Adding an optional 8 Gig SDHC card and you can store over 16 HOURS of CD-quality audio in 99 additional memories giving you a total of 198 saved loops.
Record rhythm loops and solo over them on the fly, completely hands free.
I love the fact that you can connect to your computer via the USB jack. By doing this, you can also use Digitech's very own "JamManager Loop Librarian" software to organize and archive your loops.
An axillary input lets you import music from CD and MP3 players.
You can load up the Jamman "solo" with bass lines, drums, harmonies, and more. You can create an entire backup band to take with you anywhere!
Tap tempo to slow down or speed up any loop without changing the pitch.
The Digitech Jamman "solo" has a metronome with multiple rhythm sounds and time signatures.
The Digitech Jamman "solo" features a rugged metal chassis and includes a power supply.
You can add the optional FS3X Foot Controller to change presets hands free.
All in all, Digitech did a great job with the Jamman "solo". It doesn't have an XLR microphone input but that's not a biggie for me. The biggest improvements over the original Jamman looper are as follows.
The street price of the Digitech Jamman "solo" is $199.99 USD. That's $50 USS less than the original Jamman looper pedal.
It's smaller. Half the size of the original Jamman looper pedal. Don't get me wrong, I love my original Jamman looper pedal but it does indeed add some considerable weight to my gear bag.
The Digitech Jamman "solo" comes with software called "JamManager" that will link your pedal to the computer via a USB cable. You can import .wav files from ANY source (like the Acid program or....?) and then arrange the loops in a set list that you can them dump into the Jamman "solo". I'm a solo entertainer. I do a bit of everything. Pop, adult contemporary, acoustic rock, folk, and country. I can make a country set list and an acoustic rock set list and put them in two separate folders and dump them into the Jamman solo looper pedal. This can make you much more organized and help your night go off smooth as silk.
I love my original Jamman looper. I really do. I have no intention of getting rid of it. I was thinking of buying another looper pedal before to add to the original Jamman that I have. This one will do just fine. I'll use my original Jamman to loop vocals and my new Jamman solo pedal to loop guitar loops and such.
All in all, the Digitech Solo looper pedal is a good investment and at a street price of $199.99, it's a low risk. I think you'll be quite happy with it.

Post a CommentHi Karl,
Do you use it for your acoustic rock sets as well? If so how does it handle/affect the sound of your acoustic?
