If you are looking for authentic barbecue during the National Championship Game, and think it's not available in Miami, try Shorty's BBQ. They have seven locations all around Miami so you'll have no problem finding one near your hotel or motel.
At Shorty's you'll find all the fixings you can think of for great barbecue like baked and sweet potatoes, beans, cole slaw, onion rings, corn on the cob and garlic bread. Miami has many great Chinese Restaurants but this is the place to go. New Chinatown Restaurant is the one Chinese restaurant that is atop many locals 'favorite-spots' lists who live in Miami. This place serves not only Szechuan and Cantonese, but they serve Mandarin fare as well. They will cook from their menu and favorite items like Pekinese Duck and Generals Chicken along with appetizers and have good wine choices. Authentic Tuscan is all they do here and if you want great Italian food without the chain-restaurant menu, try de Leo Trattoria. On the menu you'll find old favorites such as caprese salad, carpaccio, penne al pomodoro, and veal marsala but special dishes like osso bucco and their special daily selection of al dente risotto. Desserts include tiramisu, chocolate mousse and creme brulee.
