Delta Junction is a small Alaskan town located at the convergence of the Richardson and Alaska Highways. City ordinances prevent restaurant franchises from popping up in the city, so a wealth of unique, locally owned restaurants are available for locals and tourists to enjoy.
Snowhook Club at Questhaven Lodge
Located on the Alaska Highway, the Snowhook Club is a ten minute drive outside of Delta. For travelers making the long trek from Tok to Fairbanks, the Snowhook Club is a welcome stop at mile 1412.5 of the highway. The cuisine ranges from juicy cheeseburgers to succulent Alaska crab legs. The Snowhook Club has a warm, family atmosphere. Their kids under five eat free policy draws many families from Delta Junction. Their full menu can be viewed here .
Buffalo Drive In
This seasonal restaurant is another local favorite. Operating from mid-May to September, the Buffalo Drive In serves the best curly fries and thickest milkshakes in town. You can choose to have your waitress bring your food right to your car, or enjoy interior Alaska's long, sunny summer days by dining outside in the grassy seating area. The Drive In restaurant is located near the visitor's center, right in the middle of town where the highways meet.
Clearwater Lodge
This bar and grill is located on the banks of the beautifully clear Clearwater River. It's location at 7028 Remington Road puts it at close proximity to the Clearwater River State Recreation Site, a popular grayling fishing area. The Clearwater Lodge offers typical bar and grill food, including amazingly awesome cheeseburgers. The Clearwater often has fun holiday parties, which often include live music and even fireworks on New Year's Eve.
Birch Brothers Pizza
One of the newest restaurants in town, Birch Brothers Pizza already boasts Delta's best pizza. The supreme includes everything from bacon to olives, and the cheeseburger pizza has a unique ketchup and mustard twist. The cheesy breadsticks are our family's favorite. Sandwiches and ice cream are also available. Birch Brothers is located near the center of town, just a few blocks off the highway on Nistler Road. A full menu can be viewed here .
Other dining options in Delta Junction include the Hard Wok Cafe, the Alaska Steakhouse, Pizza Bella, and even delis at the IGA grocery store and Delta Petro Wash gas station. For such a small town, Delta Junction offers a wide variety of restaurants, none of which will disappoint.
