Texas Roadhouse is in Kenosha, Wisconsin, near the intersection of I-94 and Highway 50. The Texas style grill is a steakhouse restaurant midway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Roadhouse has a great family atmosphere, with lively atmosphere and music. We had dinner at the Teas Roadhouse recently and found it to be an enjoyable meal.

We arrived at the restaurant on a weekday evening. The restaurant was busy but not packed. On weekend nights it is no uncommon to see a line of people waiting outside the door for a table. The decor was rustic and woody, with wooden counters, tables, walls and trim. The greeting staff was at a desk near the entry, across the aisle from a meat display case. The hostess greeted us cheerfully and led us to a table near the center of the restaurant, near the bar.

A minute later the server greeted us with big smile and asked for our drink orders. We each ordered a Legendary Margarita. A short time later, the server returned with our generous sized margaritas and a bread basket with warm rolls their honey cinnamon butter.

Menu at Texas Roadhouse

We took sips of our ice cold drinks, which tasted tart yet sweet and refreshing. The warm rolls with honey cinnamon butter were delicious comfort food. We looked through the menus which featured hand cut steaks, ribs, chicken dishes and more. Examples from the menu include Prime Rib, Fall Off The Bone Ribs, Filet Medallions, Sirloin Kabob, Ft. Worth Rib eye

We ordered Cactus Blossom, a Texas sized onion, hand battered, fried and served with special horseradish sauce as an appetizer. When the server returned with our Cactus Blossom, we placed our dinner orders. I ordered a New York Strip Steak and added sauteed mushrooms to smother the steak. The steak came with two side orders, so I selected a cup of chili and and baked beans. My friend ordered a Sirloin Kabob, which was marinated sirloin with onion, mushroom tomato red pepper and green pepper. The Sirloin Kabob was served on a bed of seasoned rice.

Dinner at Texas Roadhouse

We enjoyed the Cactus Blossom appetizer, which was huge for two people. The battered and fried onion was delicious. Fried pieces on onion could be pulled off and dipped in the dressing. We were not able to finish the entire onion, but gave it a good try. There is a smaller size onion, which is probably enough for two people.

The server brought out our plates of food. Both dinners were generous portions of meat. The Steak was cooked medium, just as I had ordered. My friend's Kabob had big portions of meat and colorful vegetables.

My steak was cooked medium, as I had ordered, and tasted delicious. I enjoyed the chili topped with cheese and onions, which I ate before the steak. While we were eating some country western music came on and all of the servers stood in a row and did a line dance, which as fun to watch.

We enjoyed the dinner experience at Texas Roadhouse. The atmosphere ware lively and comfortable. I recommend Texas Roadhouse for a meal out with friends or with the family.

The dinner for two people, including one appetizer, two entrees and two margaritas was under $50, including tax and tip.

Our Texas Roadhouse is my favorite restaurant, hands down. The food is always good (and inexpensive), the service is usually outstanding, and the peach margaritas are to die for!
