Dining on University Drive
Neighborhood: West side
Fort Worth, TX 76107
United States of America
There are many simple and authentic new and existing restaurants around Fort Worth, TX. Some of the newest places to be opened are along one area of town that brings in college students each year. Along University Drive, off Hiway 30, the zoo, city's botanical gardens and other attractions also bring in visitors. This is just adjacent to the cultural district's museum's art life. I have written a short guide for those going out to dine.

Blue Mesa Grill

Blue Mesa Grill is an original Mexican restaurant. The décor inside has wood timber support beams to resemble an old historical pueblo dwelling. Full of Hispanic paintings their walls bring about its own addition to the place. During February 1st to March 31st they will be hosting the Texas Citrus Festival. Dishes will locally grown grapefruit, and oranges are being made fresh. Menu items include surf and turf tacos, salad wraps, blue corn tortilla enchiladas and spinach and mushroom enchiladas to name a few. Also, on March 23 from 5- 9 pm the Taco and Tequila Street Party will be held outdoors for $25 per person for dinner and two margaritas. Prices are $20 and under per person.

Chillie's Grill and Bar

Chili's bar and grill has a family friendly environment. Walk in their doors and see photos and locals from festival days posted everywhere. Simple menu items found here are their new burger bites. Classic lunch combos are now on special for $6 per person. General prices per person are under $10.

Zoë's Kitchen
1601 S. University

Zoë's Kitchen is the newest addition to this side of side, being open for the last four months. The first restaurant was opened in 1995 in Birmingham, Alabama. Their food was designed to accompany Mediterranean diets. Most dishes are cooked with olive oils, feta cheese, and basic whole grains. The humus plate is my favorite. Fresh cookies and cake are also good to follow items like wraps, soups, and fresh salads. Beer and q unique wine collection is also sold at Zoë's. A walk-in and order service is returned with a server who brings your food to you inside on the patio. One great feature is the text your order service, call to find out more. Expect to pay under $10 per person.

Smash Burger
1605 S. University Dr.
(817) 810 - 9612

Smash Burger is a place to offer gourmet tasting recipes on the go. Their beef is never frozen and always fresh. Patio seating is also available. If you don't go for beef, have a smash chicken or smash salad. Side items on the menu are veggie frits, Haystack onions and yummy Haagen Dazs shakes. Also under $10 per person.
