Dinner by Design is a prep kitchen store that opened in Ramsey , New Jersey right off the main street. The idea is to get all your meals for the week cooked and packaged for freezing. The staff do the shopping for the ingredients, they do all the preperation for the different meals they offer in their menu and they do all the celan up. It's so simple and it certainly simplifies the dinner process. Now there is no pressure getting good meals to the table.

The shop is bright, clean and well laid out. It is wheelchair accessible and barrier free. In the front of the store you have a counter with the monthly menus and just beyond that is the meal assembly kitchen. It has long counters with all your ingredients prepped and ready to combine. This convenient kitchen lets you relax and enjoy the meal preparation by having thier professional chefs do the chopping, cleaning and planning.

You can make twelve meals in two hours and they clean up. You leave with your meals, no mess, no time spent jockeying for parking at the food stores, standing on the check out lines, lugging huge bags into the house, unpacking your foods and putting them away. All that time is saved. It's like having private chefs.

The menus provide healthy, nutritious meals with quality ingredients. You avoid the fast food , processed food route . No planning, no mess andm or tiem to spend with your family. For example, the December menu offers Confetti Meatloaf or Bruschetta Stuffed Chicken Breast, Spanish Paellla, Shanghai Cornish Hens, Maple Dijon Pork Chops for main meals and Chocolate Mousse Brownie Delight or Cherry Cheese Danish dessert and these are only a few of the selections.

A small 12 entree package is $235.00. They're open Monday through Friday 9 to 5:50 with sessions at 11:00 and 2:00. Tuesday and Thursday there are sessions at 7:00 and Wednsday offers a 5:00 session. Saturday they close at 3:00 and have one 11:00 session.

When you go in for a session you select 12 entrees from the monthly menu. Each serves 4 to 6 people. You bring your own cooler or laundry basket to carry home your meals. The store will provide pans and freezer bags, ingredients, utensils, aprons, preprinted labels with cooking instructions and side meal suggestions. You don an apron and get going. Fun and simple. Your meals go right in the freezer when you get them home.

You can get a group of friends together as many as a group of 14-16 as few as two and spend some fun time together in the Dinner by Design kitchen. THey do fundraisers. In the front of the store is a large freezer with prepared ahead entrees, appies and meals and if you don't want to do the actual meals you can purchase entrees for 4 to 6 people for $24.00, minis ( feeds 2-3 people) for $13.00, family size sides for $5.99 or a platter for a party for $11.99. This is take and bake, freezer to oven.

If you don't wnt to do the kitchen work you can just grab a meal and bring it home. They will deliver to daycare centers , offices or large team building events or corporate groups. Children 12 and over are welcome.

You can also give a gift certificate to Dinner by Design. It's a great gift for a busy working couple, a senior living on their own, new mothers or older empty nesters. It's a fun way to spend an afterrnoon with hubby or friends and you come home with super meals. With the Holidays it's a fabulous way to save time, stress and mess . Just let them do the preation andyou can take home a meal fit for a King to put on your Holiday table. They offer Apple Honey Glazed Ham Package with two sides that feeds 6-8 for $45.00.

I think this is an incredible bargain when you do the math. You get a choice of Pecan Sweet Potato Bake, Cheesey Smashed Potatoes or Corn Casserole with Bacon. All you do is transport, bake and enjoy. Have your guests bring dessert or pick up a dessert here as well. You can get a la carte vegetables, appetizers and sweet treats.

This is a franchise so they will be popping up all over as the popularity of this idea spreads. I think it is extremely clever and it makes life so much easier for people on the go.
