It was a very clear, warm day when I went, and it was a good recommendation. I was impressed with not only the sculptures themselves, but the work that went into designing them. I was particularly impressed with the large, long-necked Ultrasaurus which were one of the largest dinosaurs ever.
After I toured the trail looking at the dinosaur sculptures, I went inside the museum to see more of them as well as fossils. The Tyrannosaurus Rex skull was on full display, and it made me appreciate them when they roamed the earth.
As for kid's activities, there is plenty for them at Dinosaur World.
The Fossil Dig is a fun time as those that take part can dig for authentic fossils, and take home the ones you find. It is located right in front of the playground where kids enjoy their time with that, too.
After I was done, I shopped at the gift shop where I bought some souvenirs. They had reasonable prices for their merchandise, and a wide selection of things to choose from. The two people on staff that Sunday were very professional and friendly the entire time.
My review of Dinosaur World
The bad: The parking lot isn't really big which I can see getting busy at times could be a problem. The Fossil Dig wasn't open when I went, so you may want to check on that if you have family before attending. Also, restaurants are a good distance away, so bring plenty of food to last for your trip there.
The good: Parking is free, the price is very reasonable, and there's no shortage of activities for everyone to enjoy. Even better than that is that there are actually two other locations in the United States in Kentucky and Florida. They have picnic areas and a wide variety of gifts at the Gift Shop.
Overall: There are plenty of good things to like about Dinosaur World, and the fact that it is close to Dinosaur Valley State Park is convenient. Despite the small parking lot and no restaurants nearby, it is fun place you can get a lot out of. Good prices, free parking, good staff, and no shortage of things to do and learn for everyone are reasons why I recommend it especially for families.
Here's the info about the park:
