The exhibit was grand and I mean this literally - there were some huge, life-sized dinosaurs. I wish I had more time to read about all of them because they really were quite something to see - they moved, made dinosaur noises and looked very real. There were fossils to touch, full-sized skeletons, and they even had consoles where you could press a button and have the dinosaur move its tail, head, arms, etc. The only problem I had was that my five year old was more concerned with getting to the gift shop then enjoying the exhibit. So, even though I thought the exhibit was terrific and something to see, I would suggest that you might want to think about taking slightly older children (ages 7 plus) to see Dinosaurs Unearthed or don't let them see the gift shop before entering (hard to do since it is the first thing my daughter spotted). I'm glad I didn't take my four-year old since I think she may have gotten a bit scared from how real the dinosaurs actually looked and sounded. The T-Rex was menacing! My favorite part was the last exhibit which displayed the dinosaurs on a smaller scale so you could really get up close and get a good look at their features.
If you have any dinosaur enthusiasts in your family, I'd recommend taking them to see Dinosaurs Unearthed. On our next visit, I hope we can see the Dinosaurs Alive Omnimax film. If dinosaurs aren't your cup of tea, then check out all the other great museums at Cincinnati Museum Center - there is something there to interest everyone.
