Dip Dye Hair -- Hot Alternative Hairstyle for 2011

Angel Vee
Are you looking for funk, or an alternative style that will blend in with the 2011 hairstyles? Instead of cutting your hair opt for color, but go real bold. Try the dip-dye where you create 2-3 different colors, but actually see the line where the other color was created. This coloring technique is not blended in at all. So don't worry if your bottom is hair is real blond and you actually see where the black or red begins, your supposed to.

Choose the Base Color

You can have red, blond, platinum, black, pink, dark brown, or shades of the same family. Make sure though the second color choice will be noticeable enough. The process is almost like coloring Easter eggs, you want the drastic appearance.

Mixing and Preparing

Will you need 20 volume, 30, 40, 10 or bleach? If the first color is red, brown, black just use 20 volume. Just need to deposit the color to help cover up a few grays and refresh it then go with 10 volume. This also applies to the second color.

Now say your first color choice is dark, but the second one is blond or platinum then you need to bleach it out first before applying the light color.

Prepare your hair for application by placing conditioner or Vaseline around hairline. Then wrap a towel around your neck secure with clip and mix the color up. You can color the whole head first to get even coverage. Or you can just color half the head allow it to process rinse off then apply second color. I suggest doing both colors at once. This way you save yourself time in the process. Just think Easter egg coloring, this will give you an idea on what your hair will turn out like.

Where to Place Shade of Choice

You can place the second color like a fringe base around the hairline, underneath to make it look like you have undertones, do half the head all the way down to the bottom length, half your bangs, just half the sides, or if your scared just do one huge thick chunk, which measures about 2-3 inches wide.

When you have two colors mixed on your hair it can bleed. To avoid this issue place a strand of cotton in-between the two colors. When the timing is up, make sure to rinse out the darker color first followed by the lighter color if possible. Do NOT use hot water, always make sure the water is cool. The cold water will lock most of the new color in, give the hair shine, and close up your hair cuticle.
