These Are Great for Dunking Bread, Veggies, Fruit and More

Robin Vinci
If you are planning a party, a great dip for an appetizer always makes a party special. Here are a few dips you can make for your next get together.

Strawberry Dip

1 lb strawberries

8 oz strawberry roule cheese

1 cup whipping cream

Blend strawberries and cheese in blender. Remove and mix in whip cream. Refrigerate at least one hour. Serve with fresh fruit, cookies, chocolate or anything else that you think will taste good with it.

Nutty Chocolate Dip

12 oz bar of dark chocolate with nuts

1 cup whipping cream

2 tablespoons rum

Heat up chocolate until soft. Add whipping cream and then rum. Mix thoroughly and serve.

These go great with almond or any hard cookies, or fruit.

Shrimp Dip

7 oz canned shrimp, diced small

8 ox cream cheese, softened

¼ cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon garlic

1 tablespoon white wine

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Parsley for garnish

Beat cream cheese and mayonnaise. Add garlic, wine and lemon juice. Stir in shrimp. Garnish with parsley. I serve this with crackers or breadsticks.

Vegetable Dip

3 tablespoons garlic

¼ teaspoon salt

3 egg yolks

1 ¼ cup olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Ground black pepper to taste

Mix garlic, salt & eggs. Slowly mix in oil. Mix well and add lemon juice and pepper. Serve with long slices of vegetables.

Guacamole Dip

2 medium avocados

3 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon garlic from jar or fresh diced well

2 medium tomatoes, skinned and diced

2 green onions, diced

1 tablespoon coriander

Salt and pepper to taste

Cut avocados in pieces and remove seeds. Mix in bowl with lime juice. Use fork or potato masher to mash it as much as possible. Add garlic, tomatoes and onions. Mix well. Add dash of salt & pepper. Garnish with coriander. Serve with tortilla chips.

Cheesy Crab Dip

4 oz Neufchatel cheese

½ cheddar cheese, shredded

2 drops Tabasco sauce

1 tablespoon ketchup

3 tablespoons milk

7 oz crab meat, either shredded or from a can.

Mix together all ingredients and serve. I like these with crackers or bread sticks
