Dirt Devil Kone or Dirt Devil Kurv? Which Vacuum Suits Your Needs?

For those of us tired of having to rummage around in a closet any time we need to vacuum up a small spill or mess, the Dirt Devil Kone and the Dirt Devil Kurv are both welcome additions to the world of handheld vacuum cleaners. Both the Dirt Devil Kone and the Dirt Devil Kurv were designed to be displayed in your living space instead of hidden away in a closet or under the bed.

Both handhelds come with a bagless dirt cup and sit seamlessly on their chargers. The Dirt Devil Kone and the Dirt Devil Kurv also come with a 3 year warranty, which is nearly unheard of when it comes to handheld vacuum cleaners. Unfortunately, neither one comes with attachments of any kind, making them useless when it comes to cleaning between car seats or reaching small spaces. Both models look more like pieces of art than vacuum cleaners, but neither one is quite as powerful as I would like.

Features:

The Dirt Devil Kone comes with a 7.2 volt motor and is ineffective at picking up anything other than fine crumbs and hair. It also has a tendency to blow air and dirt around, and is nearly as loud as a standard upright vacuum cleaner. The battery life is short, and the Dirt Devil Kone begins to lose suction after only 20 minutes of use. The Kone is more pleasant to look at, however, and fits in better with modern furnishings.

The Dirt Devil Kurv is noticeably more powerful than the Kone, and features a 9.6 volt battery and an improved suctioning system. The noise level on the Kurv is not quite as bad, and the handle is more comfortable and easier to grip.

The Dirt Devil Kone comes in six different colors, including charcoal, white illuminated, champagne, blue steel, light pink, and plum. The white model also features a soft glow light that looks lovely, can be turned on and off, and can function as a nightlight.

The Dirt Devil Kurv comes in four different colors, including choco-latte, champagne, spice, and harbor blue. Even after checking numerous stores, I was unable to find a single Kurv in spice or harbor blue.

Price:

Price seems to vary from one retailer to another for both of these products. The average price of the Dirt Devil Kone is about 45 dollars, but I was able to find one online for 35 dollars. The Kurv is a bit more expensive and averages 55 dollars. Both models can be purchased through any major retailer locally or online, or bought direct from the Dirt Devil website.

Overall, the Dirt Devil Kurv is a better option for anyone that believes a handheld vacuum cleaner should be able to handle vacuuming up more than traces of dust and crumbs. Even factoring in the slightly higher cost of the Kurv, it is still a better deal than the Dirt Devil Kone.
