Pros
Even though it is small the Dirt Devil M084100 Power Stick has excellent suction power. The 12-amps motors makes it easy for this vacuum to suck in sand, hair, fur balls, crumbs, dirt and sawdust from your hardwood or tile floors.
It is also lightweight and very easy to maneuver. It comes with a hook so you can hang it on the drawer, closet or you can just hang it on the wall.
Cons
The major design flaw for this stick vacuum is that the vent is on the side which means some of the dust you're trying to pick up will run away before you get to them. The second flaw is the handle which is too short. Even if you are not too tall you may find yourself bowing whenever you use this machine.
The third flaw is the power cord. The cord for this Power Stick is only 20-foot long so you cannot clean a large area without changing power outlets.
Next is the noise it makes. This stick vacuum is extremely loud. You should wear an ear plug when you use this machine or just do your vacuuming as swift as possible.
No attachments are included for this vacuum. The vacuum itself is all you have to do any kind of cleaning you might need. It also misses a roller bar so for high-pile carpets the performance is really lacking.
Even though Dirt Devil says this vacuum has low profile but the fact is only the head is low enough to go under furniture. The body itself is too big to go under most bed.
Conclusion
If you live alone in a small apartment with mostly bare floors or low-pile carpets this $50 stick vacuum is adequate. However for a huge house with plenty of people spreading dust and dirt daily this is definitely not the right choice. This thing lacks attachments to do some serious cleaning around the house and your family member will definitely hate the noise coming from it.
There are plenty stick vacuums in the market better than this one. Some examples are Bissell 3106A, Hoover S2220 and Eureka 96 B cordless stick vacuum. Shop around and you may find other stick vacuums that suit your needs.
