Dirty Restaurants: The Problem with Unsanitary Fast Food Joints

Fourth Down
Where I live we have a plaza full of restaurants. Mainly your popular fast food restaurants such as Mcdonalds, Rally's, and TacoBell. Every time I eat at these restaurants I seem to get sick . Anywhere from minutes to hours after I eat at one of these establishments I end up vomiting every time. This past week I ordered a Papa Johns pizza for instance and I happen to be very hungry. I ended up eating around 4 slices. By the time my ride came to pick me up I was already feeling sick. Then it hit me and all of it came right back up.

I have started to look in the windows of the drive-thru windows and noticing almost bum type workers. Smelling and looking as if they have lived in the street for months without showering. Maybe I am exaggerating or too opinionated perhaps. Call it what you want but it disgust me to see these kind of employee's at the places where I eat and dine and often take my kid and family. Places where your use to going out to eat and see commercials everyday on TV. I would be almost non-American to not eat out at some of these places. They have been apart of my life and America for so long. I would hate to stop going out to eat out of fear of whats in my food or what someone did to my food.

How to you go about dealing with something of this matter ? You hassle the employee's then you have to worry about what else is going to happen to your food. I have found hairs to nose waste in my food ! Flies flying around the restaurant to employee's wearing white shirts that looks as if they were rolling around in the dirt. On top of all of this the services at these fast food joints seems to be worsening. A few months ago I went to Hardee's late night. I sat in the drive-thru line so long that I had my order picked already picked out that by the time I got to the window to order it was breakfast time. I know this is'nt Hardee's fault but I had to sit in line on top of all this and watch a car full of drunks puke the hole time. This certainly added to my frustration. I'm not really going to touch on Mcdonalds late night line. I have sat at the menu waiting to order for a good 30 minutes then decide to just drive straight to the window to order and never seen anybody in there like they just took a big break.

Solutions is something to think about in these type of situations but what are the alternatives ? Complain on the spot and get a free meal . Is there any other ways to help fix the problem other than temporary ? I really think its beyond our control and these workers reflect the managers, supervisors, and franchises. Maybe the workers only give us what they are paid which is near minimum wage in most cases. Would it be better to up the pay of fast food workers since its a Billion Dollar business or would the workers still be unsanitary ? No matter the reason for nasty and slow service I still expect to get my moneys worth and not get sick.

  • Nose waste and hair in the food.
More than 60% of the restaurants had what experts refer to as "critical violations," which are benchmarks for judging a restaurant's cleanliness.
