Upon arriving early for a meeting in Bridgeport CT, I decided to walk over to the Dunkin Donuts I had seen on the next corner of Fairfield Ave. From the outside it looked practically deserted so I had high hopes for a speedy coffee and back to my meeting before I was late. Upon entering I saw two woman waiting at the counter and two employees working. I entered to the employees yelling loudly through the back line on how to make a specialty coffee for people waiting in drive-thru. Having worked in fast food I quickly searched for that big clock that tells how long the order had been waiting. Over two minutes when I walked through the door, and their drinks weren't even half done. It was another full minute before anyone came to the counter to help the two woman waiting. One had her drink, but the other one's order hadn't even been taken yet. I stood behind them patiently waiting, and didn't even get any acknowledgment from the staff that I was even there. That big clock on the wall was approaching five minutes when the drive-thru order was completed, and I was still standing patiently waiting my turn. Once I finally made it to the counter, my order was taken and filled quickly, I must admit. There was no greeting, no "sorry for the wait", no "have a nice day", or even a "come back soon".
When leaving the store, I noticed a line of three cars in the drive-thru line. Tempting as it was, I resisted the urge to walk up to that last car and warn of the 15 minute wait ahead of them. Luckily, I still made it in time for my meeting and cautiously went to sip my nice hot coffee; which turned out to be lukewarm coffee. Of course, by this time it was too late to go back, and honestly, with the attitude of the people working, I didn't want to step foot in that store again.
Whenever we are giving someone our business, we want to be treated with a little respect and courtesy. At a coffee shop like dunkin donuts, we are not paying just for a cup of coffee, but the convience of a fast, fresh product. The service we recieve goes hand in hand with the product we are purchasing.
I do believe that this is the worst all around experience I have ever had at a Dunkin Donuts store. Long wait times, unprofessional employees and imperfect product makes this a store that I would recommend you drive by, rather than drive thru.
