River City Disc Golf Association in Jacksonville, Florida

The River City Disc Golf Association, a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association, is the primary disc golf association in Jacksonville, Florida and sponsors a major tournament each year as well as monthly shoot outs and weekly game opportunities for local players. They have a nice website at www.rcdga.org which provides plenty of information on the River City Disc Golf Association as well as a forum and downloadable membership applications. The group was recently featured by local Jacksonville television station Channel 4 in an informative video that explains the basics of disc golf as well as the camaraderie in the sport.

Disc Golf Tournaments and Other Game Opportunities in Jacksonville

Since 2006, the River City Disc Golf Association has sponsored an Open Tournament in March or April of each year. The 5th Annual Jacksonville Open Disc Golf Tournament for 2010 will be held on April 10th and 11th at Ed Austin Regional Park with players coming from all over Florida and many other states to compete in the event. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Clara White Mission in Jacksonville. This is the major tournament for the River City Disc Golf Association and is sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association and the Fabulous Florida Tour.
