Discarded Dream

( Walking Away )

Whyte Panther
by Whyte Panther (Luigi Fiorino)

Some eighty six months
Did we dare to dream
Laying the foundation
Brick by solitary brick

I awoke one recent morning
To an ungodly crashing sound
The annihilation, one by one
Of each and every hand laid stone

With a deafening explosion
Rivaling that of Thor's hammer
Did the ground tremble and shake
As the rubble and powder filled the air

Seven years... seven years.. and yet
I know this is just another pebble
Along an ever lengthening road
That continues to draw me ever forward

I will mourn the loss of what was
But only for a shortest while
As I await the coming opportunity
Fate certainly has in store for me

Standing tall and remarkably at ease
Ready and eager to start again
Will I take these next few steps
Leaving new footprints in the dust
