DISCIPLINE

The word "Discipline" has developed many negative connotations in the past, all of which have in some way misinterpreted the true intent behind this powerful way of thinking, living, and co-existing with one's surrounding world. Discipline has been erroneously viewed as punishment, self-torture, and hardship. In truth, it is none of these things. Its aim is not to cripple, constrict, or intimidate, but to liberate, empower, and fulfill. It may be hard to see this in the ever-growing overwhelm of modern life. But focus more closely, and you too may become inspired to learn just what exactly can set you apart from the rest.

In order to better understand Discipline, one must take a look at the world around with a critical eye. First and foremost, the mentality of today's culture will most accurately reflect that many people push themselves to the edge of reason for one single purpose - to remain comfortable in their life. This drive for constant pleasure has all but destroyed our desire to demand more of ourselves, to strive towards accomplishment, and to achieve new levels of self-mastery. The simple fact is that those concepts have lost their importance to countless millions around the world, and all because of our unwillingness to settle for anything less than the instantly gratifying.

Secondly, consider that if you were to ask the closest person to you right now what they expect from their life, chances are they will not be able to answer tangibly. This loss of objectivity is a reflection of our unwillingness to look within ourselves for the answers to such questions, and, more importantly, our lack of the core strength to be honest with ourselves about them.

Between the two, we have effectively managed to hold ourselves back at near-primitive levels of development, while in reality being capable of much, much more.

And so, we arrive at the critical question - how do we fix ourselves? Where do we begin? Problems are so vast, and mentors so scarce, that change seems to be impossible. It is not so. The only problem with change is our negative resistance to it. In fact, when we begin to accept positive change as inevitable instead, truly wonderful things begin to happen. Discipline is the mechanism by which this change is kicked into motion, the spark that lights the fire of self-improvement, and the tool by which ordinary people achieve extraordinary things.

So what is Discipline? The existence and root cause behind Discipline is a subject much too great to explore in this blog. What must be noted, however, is that Discipline will be different for every person that encounters it (just as the pursuit of the same goal can lend itself to countless different paths towards its achievement), and yet on some level its principles and concepts will remain the same. For this reason, it cannot be viewed as a single action, or even a mentality.

Instead, view it as a process, a methodology, and, more crucially, a methodology that can be learned. So in that respect, Discipline can be construed as the process of systematically identifying and developing your personal inner truths, piecing together a framework of thought, body, and action that most accurately reflects your ideal state of being - and optimally positions you to deliver your contribution to the world.

Perhaps the most astounding aspect of the concept of Discipline is its potential. It must merely be instilled in an individual, and once there, will always find its way to the surface, regardless of age and personal history, and will find a way to capture and engage the attention and confidence of other people around. And for that, we ask you to join us, not only to better yourself but also the world, our world, in any way possible, beginning with the first hour of the first day in which you first discover this powerful gift for yourself.

Discipline to be defined is not merely as "doing that which you need to do", but as something bigger, greater. Discipline as a process by which all of your fulfillment comes to live - it is the unraveling of your life.
