If you're an Ohioan who is 60 or over, you qualify for a free Golden Buckeye discount card. It's easy to apply for one at most public libraries and senior centers. The card is accepted at many businesses which are all listed on goldenbuckeye.com. A few of the participating locations are 7 Eleven, Krema (a fruit, nut, nut butter, and candy store), Anthony Thomas Candy, Cottman Transmission, NAPA Auto Parts, Donato's Pizza, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Swan Cleaners, Subway, Taco Bell, Tim Horton's, and Wendy's. Just show your card and receive 5-20% off purchases, free drinks, free exams, and other freebies.

The rest of these discounts generally only require a photo ID showing proof of age or sometimes just a mention of a senior discount.

Wild Oats, a nationwide chain of natural and organic grocery stores, offers seniors a 10% discount on total purchases every Tuesday. Wild Oats has a wonderful selection of bulk foods and high quality food and household items. Their prices can be a little high on some items so this discount comes in handy.

For customers 60 and over, Goodwill Stores offer a 10% discount on Tuesdays. Present your picture ID to the cashier if you qualify. Good will often has Target stores overstocks but unfortunately the discount doesn't apply to these items. It is my favorite thrift store, however, because it's clean and well organized with a good selection.

Pepperidge Farm Thrift Stores have terrific deals on Pepperidge foods that are close to expiration. They carry all the breads, cookies, crackers, and even frozen items like desserts and garlic bread at a much reduced price. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the thrift stores offer a 10% discount for customers 60 and older.

Another card shop that has a senior discount is Factory Card & Party Outlet. They offer 10% off most items in the store. This is a great place to buy greeting cards. They have a wide selection priced at only 59 cents.
