Discover the Health Benefits of Walnut Oil and More

Walnut Oil is Not Just Another Ordinary Oil

Melissa B
I tend to be one of those people who just research the death out of just about anything natural and healthy. I am still in my twenties but am a confessed health junkie! So while getting my daily dose of health shows in the morning, none other than Doctor Oz himself just happened to have a segment on walnut oil. Walnut oil? I asked myself, why have I never heard of this healthy oil before? Unfortunately for me the segment on the health benefits of walnut oil was only a few minutes in duration, leaving me with a curious hunch that would soon lead me on a chase for the 411 facts on this supposed super food; walnut oil!

And amazingly enough my research was so convincing that, guess what? Yup! I just had to get some for myself and own the delicious, golden, omega 3, fountain of youth healthy walnut oil itself. So after reading this article, I hope you find yourself with the same "got to have this" quest for some omega 3 packed, walnut oil...it could save your life! Ok, I am a bit of a drama queen, but it can help you in your efforts to stay healthy and in shape, which technically can save your life, so I'm not making such an exaggerated claim if you think about.

Battle The Belly Fat:

The first thing about walnut oil that grabbed my attention super fast... hearing that walnut oil combats belly fat! I mean if there is one area I can't get rid of, it's the belly! According to Doctor Oz, the fact that walnut oil is loaded with healthy omega 3 fatty acid also helps curbs hunger. You will start feeling fuller faster in other words. The best thing is you can make your own home made salad dressing using walnut oil in place of another oil, or mix them both if it's another healthy oil such as Extra virgin Olive Oil. That way your getting FULL on your salad before the main entree! Loading up with healthy nutritious fats such as walnut oil also works double time to satisfy your body's natural craving for "fat" so you can get the right kind and reap the benefits!

Getting a Good Night's Sleep:

Who hasn't struggled to get the right amount of sleep at night? It's so common today and sadly so many people suffer from many sleep disorders that can be alleviated by a good sound healthy diet. How do I know this? Because before I started eating healthy, I didn't go to bed until after 2am, waking up groggy and could hardly function during the day until 9pm when a sudden burst of energy would keep me up all night again! There are actually foods that can help regulate sleep and, yeppers, walnut oil is certainly a golden ticket to some sounds zzzz's! This is because Walnut Oil actually contains Melatonin.

If you never heard of Melatonin before its' a hormone that regulates your sleep patterns. Many people who opt for over the counter sleep aids, can actually buy melatonin in supplement form. If you would like to get it in your diet naturally, just consume some walnut oil instead.

Gaurd Your Heart:

Walnut oil is especially good for the heart. Not only is it packed with omega 3's but walnut oil helps lower Endothelin levels. This is a good thing because we do not want Endothelin in our bodies because it is what assists in the inflammation of our arteries. You see plaque isn't going to be able to accumulate into the blood as much as it could with higher levels of Endothelin. So by consuming walnut oil on a regular basis is a great way to help prevent heart disease.

There are many more health benefits of walnut oil ranging from it's high levels of antioxidants and effects for younger healthier skin to it's cancer fighting properties. But I think what you really need to know, is where you can buy walnut oil from. Am I correct?

You may be very surprised if I told you that your local supermarket store very well may have it, look up high, it's not a popular oil so it's not going to be the center of attention. Chances are it's there, at least one of two brands and not out of this world expensive but not cheap either. Expect to pay $6.00-$11.00 for about 12-24 oz of Walnut Oil.

Walnut oil is not so much of a cooking oil because it is very delicate. It's optimal for salads, additions to smoothies, drizzling over cooked fish or chicken, you may bake with it, glaze it over dinner rolls or even quickly pan sear a quick cooking fish like Tilapia with it. It has a wonderful flavor to match it's wonderful health benefits so enjoy!

Be careful not to use this oil as a source of cooking oil (unless for only a minutes or two or in baked goods) It is too delicate to handle heat and burns very quickly.

Walnut, almond, cashew - the oil and butter from all these is more worthwhile than what people generally use. Great info!
