Great off road nitro powered trucks can withstand extremely rough terrain and perform daring jumps that will thrill you and delight all observers. These trucks are highly durable and can withstand considerable beatings, though a careful driver will, as always, enjoy them more and for longer periods of time. On road nitro powered RC cars can reach astonishingly fast speeds; 80 miles per hour is quite a common speed for commercially available hobby grade nitro powered vehicles - and some can go even faster! Most nitro RC cars can go much faster than most electric RC cars.
If you want to launch yourself into an adventure right away, consider getting a ready to run (RTR) nitro RC car kit. These kits require minimal assembly and can often reach 70 miles per hour or more during their first run. Later, you'll be able to purchase additional parts to tweak, upgrade, and maintain these vehicles.
Maintaining nitro powered RC cars takes more work and dedication than maintaining electric RC cars. First, RC nitro cars run on nitromethane fuel, which will need to be replenished quite frequently. Furthermore, residue from the fuel can get onto the car body and working parts, so you'll need to clean the vehicle periodically to avoid damage. You'll need to tune your nitro car engine and monitor its performance carefully in order to achieve optimal results. Fortunately, however, many newer models of RC nitro cars are much more user-friendly than their past counterparts have been. It is now easier than ever to own, operate, and enjoy a nitro RC car.
If you want to take the challenge of nitro powered RC cars to the next level, consider getting a kit for assembly. You'll have to learn about the function of parts such as the glow plug, the receiver battery, the engine starters, and the car's speed control devices. But the real advantage to assembling your car yourself is that you will have first-hand experience with every aspect of its operation. It will therefore be much easier for you to identify any malfunctions, fix them yourself, and upgrade your car as you see fit.
