When the PS3 launched there were a limited amount of games that came out for it at the same time, leaving you low on choices. Even though there are currently just a few PS3 game choices there are still some good ones available. Here are five of the top PS3 games out now.

Resistance: Fall of Man
This is probably the best game for the PS3 at the moment. It doesn't do anything new but it provides great action packed fun and a really good multiplayer facility. This top PS3 game is a typical first person shooter. Its quality puts it near or at the top of the list for first shooters. The game is presented with well-designed graphics and environments. The weapons this top PS3 game are completely made up and contain some cool features including a weapon called the Augor. The Augor can shoot through solid objects making it very dangerous if used against you but a great advantage for you to use against your enemies. The online aspect of this top PS3 game has been done very well. It offers smooth and lag free game play for up to 40 players at one time.

NHL 2K7
This is the latest version of this popular hockey game for the PS3. It is currently the only hockey game available for the PS3 and it makes into the list of top PS3 games. NHL 2K7 has good player graphics and very realistic looking ice. The game play remains very fun and has not seen many changes. This PS3 launch game tries to make use of the sixaxis controller.

The sixaxis function is the only real difference between the PS3 and xbox 360 versions of the game. With the sixaxis controller you can shake it when you are trying to check another player. It does take a little practice to get the hang of this feature but it definitely adds to the overall fun once you have mastered it.

Another new feature that is included in this top PS3 game is the way the game is presented. Besides the standard TV style commentary that is still available you can change the presentation to something call Cinemotion. This feature is definitely a little corny but it isn't overdone. The presentation is made much more dramatic with orchestral music that becomes more sombre or joyful depending on how you are playing. It also includes a coach pep talk.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
This is the biggest computer game around that features the Marvel Universe. This PS3 game will take you to all the corners of the Marvel Universe in an epic adventure. The game has been made by Activision and Raven Software. The general difficulty of the game is medium and the learning curve is about half an hour making it pretty appealing to many Marvel fans whether they are experienced gamers or not.

This PS3 game includes over twenty of the Marvel heroes including Spider Man and Wolverine. There are tons of different environments that you will encounter, each with their own interesting qualities and challenges. Your overall game challenge will be to defeat the evil group of villains controlled by Dr. Doom. You will have to track the villains around the Marvel Universe. Some of the villains that play major rolls in this top PS3 games are Loki, Mephisto and Ultron. There are lots of fun and interesting twists in the well-planned storyline of this great PS3 game.

Overall this is an excellent PS3 launch game. It has lots of challenges and variety of characters and environments to keep it interesting. Its only really bad points are that the graphic details are a little flat and there is some over use of special affects that can cause the game to stutter. But all in all a top PS3 game for the moment.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
This PS3 version is of excellent quality similar to the other versions available. The characters, both fictional and real are very well designed and presented. One of the best features of this top PS3 game is the create a character function. You would be hard pressed to find a better create a character function elsewhere. The general game play of the PS3 version of this game doesn't differ much from other versions except for a new feature called "True Aiming" and nine fewer courses to play. One of the most fun playing modes is Battle Golf.

Battle Golf is a playing mode where you compete with your opponent to win the most holes. However the amusing twist is that for each hole that you win you can remove one club from your opponent's bag. So things can get pretty interesting as the battle progresses.

Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 3 is another excellent first person shooter game that is now available for the PS3. It doesn't differ much from its xbox cousin except that it is slightly inferior. So if you have both consoles get the xbox360 version. The overall review of this top PS3 game is that it presents beautiful environments, good sound effects and 24 player online play. The single player mission is pretty similar to the Call of Duty 2 version and not particularly interesting. One of most unfortunate things about this top PS3 game is that it has an unreliable frame rate. It is particularly sad considering what the PS3 is capable of. However the game still offers lots of action packed game play and impressive settings.
