Discovery Channel in Silver Springs, MD Gunman James Jay Lee Has Programming Demands

Police have verified that the hostage taker at the Discovery Channel Headquarters in Silver Springs, MD is James Jay Lee. Gunman Lee has protested at the building before. I09 has an unconfirmed image of Lee outside the building with a shotgun. Lee is demanding better science programming and has posted his demands online. Police say that he currently has only one hostage left that is unharmed, but has an explosive device.

The demands are an anti-human rant scolding us for breeding and destroying the planet. Here is an excerpt:

"Saving the environment and the remaning species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels. The humans? The planet does not need humans."

This is right across the street from where I go to the American Film Institute Silver Theater. It's strange seeing the whole thing shut down on CNN and crawling with police. I hope everyone leaves unharmed.
