S/V Denis Sullivan
A full size recreation of a nineteenth century sailing vessels sails from Discovery World. The S/V Denis Sullivan's voyages are educational tours of Lake Michigan for children and adults. The voyages will cover over 18,000 nautical miles a year. The S/V Denis Sullivan's crew of ten can carry twenty two over night passengers or fifty day passengers.
The Rockwell Dream Machine
The Rockwell Dream Machine exhibit is all about making dreams a reality. Using Rockwell inspired inventions visitors can build their own dream machines. The dream machine also allows users to view and study three Milwaukee landmarks and the technology they host. These scale landmarks and dream machines teach visitors about technology, invention, and history all while having fun!
Educational Labs and Classes
Adults or children can enjoy free or low cost labs and classes at Discovery World Museum. The classes and labs cover girl scout badges, recycling, pod casts, scrap booking, chromatography, and more.
Hands On Exhibits
Children will enjoy the hands on exhibit that show how technology, force, motion, light, and more work. Most museums discourage children from touching and can be boring for small children who still learn by touch. Discovery World Museum is different. At Discovery World children are not only allowed to touch almost everything, but encouraged. The museum's exhibits are designed to be hands on and interactive.
Print and Publishing Lab
Create a work of art using Discovery World Museums print and publish lab. Visitors can create a water based screen printed masterpiece using state of the art graphics software and printers. From design to completion you are in full design control of your art. Best of all the computers are set up to interact with individuals of all ages and levels of technology skill.
High Definition Theaters
Discovery World Museum features four large screen high definition televisions that are continuously airing educational AND interesting films. The films are appropriate for any age and are currently playing; How to Build A Human Predictor, Blue Planet Natural History of the Ocean: Coral Seas, Weird Nature: Marvelous Motion, and Arctic Mission: The Great Adventure.
Hours of Operation
Discovery World Museum is closed Mondays, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The Tuesday through Sunday hours are 9 am to 5 pm. There are also special members only hours and events.
