Facts
Affirmative action requires that businesses hire a certain amount of "minority" workers. They use the word minority but the smallest populated minorities such as Portuguese are not considered because they are too small of a minority group in America which is confusing since this law was supposedly written to help the smaller less represented groups. Under Affirmative action a company MUST have so many "minority workers" so if the company is at the racial quota and a "minority" quits, that company CANNOT hire a white person no matter how qualified that person may be. Therefore affirmative action insures that white people will not be hired based on their race. Affirmative action allows a "minority" business owner to discriminate on white applicants and only hire people of their same color. There was a time where these extreme actions were necessary. Coming off of electing president Obama is affirmative action still necessary today?
43% of white people voted for Obama 55% of white voters voted for McCain 31% of Latino voters voted for McCain
95% of black voters voted for Obama 4% of black voters voted for McCain 67% of Latino voters voted for Obama
Looking at these demographical voting percentages where white voters were much less race motivated than the black voters should we be considering expanding Affirmative action to force companies to hire a minimum number of white employees?
I want to hear what you think so here it is.
What should we do with Affirmative action?
Keep it the same?
Expand it to unrepresented minorities?
Expand it to include whites?
Just get rid of it?
What do you think of the current state of racism?
White people are too racist?
Black people are too racist?
Racism isn't really much of an issue any more?
