With the Goverments New Rebate Program Starting October 15 it is Time to Shop for a Dishwasher

On October 15th each of the 50 states will use Federal Government money to draft a plan to the American consumer rebates on various appliances. One of the appliances that will have a rebate is dishwashers. It is suppose to encourage the consumer to replace their inefficient appliances and opt for the new appliances that contain an Energy Star rating. This rebate program is suppose to offer quicker money in the consumers pocket with actual rebates issued. Each state is in charge of how exactly to implement the program but over 300 million dollars will be set aside for the states to offer to the consumer who chooses more energy efficient appliances.

Now is definitely the time to plan on purchasing a dishwasher. Here are ten top tips to help you when the time is right and its time to start shopping.

1) Make sure that the new model dishwasher that you are considering purchasing is an Energy Star appliance. This means that it uses less water and energy then other models. Only Energy Star appliances will ultimately end up qualifying for the Government rebate program.

2) What color dishwasher will compliment your kitchen? They now come in white, silver, and every other color under the rainbow. Some colors you might have to special order such as red but they are available in these diverse colors.

3) Be sure to find out the expectations of the sensor in the dishwasher. This is a relatively new feature and it is ideally suppose to conserve water and energy but also make the entire unit run quieter. Different units offer different sensors with different expectations.

4) Are the racks adjustable? Do you need adjustable racks? They make it nice if you are washing large pans.

5) Some dishwasher offer three racks. Do you need three racks?

6) Make sure you take into consideration the flatware basket. Many designs are better then others. Few people seriously consider the flatware aspect of a dishwasher but this is very important because you want your forks, spoons, and knives to be clean.

7) Learn everything that you can about the warranty. Some models offer a year but others are top of the line and offer two years. Some places offer

8) How many spray arms does the dishwasher offer? The more spray arms the better cleaning power, especially with pots and pans.

9) Does it offer a high temperature setting for truly sanitizing dishes? Not all dishwashers offer this.

10) Does it offer an accelerated wash cycle? Many people like this faster washing mode. Not all dishwashers offer it.

All of these are things to consider before making your dishwasher purchase so you can get the model that offers the features you truly want and desire.
