Dismemberment Plan Announce Mini Reunion Tour

Heralded as one of indie rock's most important, most influential and most underrated bands, Washington D.C.'s The Dismemberment Plan went their separate ways in 2003 after ten years and four original full-length albums.

This week, however, The Dismemberment Plan has announced five mini-tour dates in January, 2011 to support the vinyl re-release of their breakthrough and easily most popular album, Emergency & I. The release will come from Barsuk Records, hitting stores January 11th, 2011, and will feature the band's history as told by Josh Modell of The Onion. The tour kicks off with two shows in their hometown, January 21st at the Black Cat and January 22nd at the 9:30 Club, followed by stops in New York City, Boston and Philadelphia.

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 17th. As of press time, tickets for the Boston and New York shows will be available through Ticketmaster and, as is (almost) always the case, at the venues' box offices.

As for the question of what happens after January 29th: "We're not planning a new record," explains bassist Eric Axelson in an interview with the Washington Post's Click Track. "But we're doing these shows and taking it day to day after that."

Awww, I really wish it was more than a mini-tour and somewhere close by.
