Disney Cruise: Mickey's Detective Agency Offers Fun for All Ages

While I have not been a fan of the Disney Dream, it does offer some special touches the other Disney boats do not. One thing the Disney Dream has that the other Disney boats does not have is the Mickey's Detective Agency. If you want to find out what the Mickey's Detective Agency is and how you can be a part of it on your Disney Dream cruise, then read on.

The Mickey's Detective Agency is a desk that is open most of the time, but it does close late at night. At the desk you get a card and join the Mickey's Detective Agency. You can also pick up a pencil and a paper to help you pick who the bad guy behind the crime is. When you first use Mickey's Detective Agency, you will pick one of two cases to solve. You can find missing art work or find missing puppies. You might want to get two papers to do both cases or if you have two or more kids you can have each do one.

You can use the paper that is at the desk to not only help you figure out what Disney villain is behind the case, but you can also check where the pictures to use are. You do not have to find all the pictures so you should plan the shortest way to get to the most pictures. Starting from the middle and working from the top or bottom and moving on from there is the best way. There are fewer pictures in the front or back of the boat.

Finding the pictures can be done without the map. The pictures do stuff for all guests. Any picture that moves and is animated when you walk by will be a Mickey's Detective Agency picture. It does not matter which picture you get or in what order. One way to spot these pictures is they will have some black plastic things at the bottom, top and sides of the frame. These black spots are IR beam sensors that see you. Just wave a little and the picture should see you. You will want to wave the coded section of your card that you got at Mickey's Detective Agency to get the clue. Some clues involve you doing simple things using the card. These are all very simple challenges and kids will have no problem finishing them for the clue.
When you find a picture, you will either get a clue or find a puppy or painting depending on the case. Clues will be simple things like it was a guy. Then you know its not the Wicked Witch, etc. Once you have found all the items and got all the clues, they will let you guess who did the crime. If you do not guess right, they give you more chances. Once you guess right, you get to see the final video. Once you have finished the case, you can repeat it. The game is never the same. There are tons of combinations.

Overall, the Mickey's Detective Agency gives kids something to do while on the boat. It is a great way to lessen the crowds in other areas and with the pictures all around the boat even the pictures never get to crowded except on the day at sea when lots of kids are playing the Mickey's Detective Agency game. It is amazing that at all hours of the day, if you are by a moving picture, there is probably a kid or family working on their Mickey's Detective Agency case. Mickey's Detective Agency is fun even for adults, but I would not play it more then once unless I was a kid.
