Disney princess costumes are a good choice for both women and girls. You can make your Disney princess costume as authentic or as creative as you like. You can also easily enhance your costume by adding a tiara that goes with its basic colors. Here are a few ideas for the most popular Disney princess costumes.

Disney Princess Cinderella Halloween Costume

To make a Disney princess Cinderella Halloween costume, get a medium to light blue sleeveless satin dress with a scoop neckline. Also find some white crinolines or petticoats, elbow length light blue gloves and some sheer fabric such as chiffon or tulle in light blue. Use the sheer fabric to create a small overskirt that covers the hip area at the back of the dress. Also create some small balloon sleeves with the sheer fabric. Make a choker necklace from dark blue ribbon. If your hair doesn't look like Cinderella's, get a long blond wig and style it up in a bun hairstyle. Wear large white or light blue clip-on earrings. Find a silver-toned rhinestone tiara and metallic silver "glass" slippers to make your Cinderella princess Halloween costume complete.

Disney Princess Aurora Halloween Costume

To make a Disney princess Aurora costume from Sleeping Beauty, get a long pink dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves. Trim the dress on the neckline and at the waist with white fabric. Add some white petticoats to go underneath the skirt. If your hair doesn't look like Aurora's, get a long blond wig and curl it with sponge rollers overnight. Find additional accessories such as a choker necklace. Add a silver or gold toned tiara to make your princess Aurora Halloween costume complete.

Disney Princess Jasmine Halloween Costume

For a Disney princess Jasmine Halloween costume, you'll need a light blue sleeveless halter top and pair of harem pants. Use matching blue fabric to add off-the-shoulder sleeves to the halter top. Also find some large triangular gold-toned earrings, a thick gold-toned necklace and light blue elf shoes with a pointed toe. If your hair doesn't look like Jasmine's, buy a long dark wig. Use a thick blue ribbon or headband to tie your hair back. Tie your hair with two additional ribbons in back. Attach a large circular blue faux jewel in a gold-toned setting to the headband or ribbon.

Disney Princess Belle Halloween Costume

To create a Disney princess Belle costume, find a yellow sleeveless southern belle dress with a long flared and gathered skirt. Also get some long yellow gloves and a hoop skirt to wear underneath the dress. Attach matching yellow fabric to the top of the dress to create off-the-shoulder sleeves. Then attach a sheer yellow overskirt to the waistline of the dress or sew on yellow fabric curtains on the gathers in the dress. Curl your hair with a curling iron or style a long brown wig with sponge rollers. Style the front of your hair in a bun at the back of the head and allow the rest of your hair to flow freely down your back and shoulders. Find a gold-toned tiara to make your Disney Belle princess Halloween costume complete.

Disney Princess Ariel Halloween Costume

To make an Ariel Halloween costume from The Little Mermaid, first get a purple strapless bikini or purple tank top for the top of your mermaid Halloween costume. Then make the upper part of the mermaid skirt from sea-green shiny fabric such as satin or lame. To make the mermaid tail fins, use a sheer green fabric such as organza or tulle. If your hair isn't red, get a long bright red wig. Fashion a simple Ariel tiara from cardboard. Paint it with iridescent green acrylic craft paint. When the paint has dried, attach decorations such as faux pearls, seashells and rhinestones with hot glue. You can also make an Ariel wand by painting a wooden dowel with the same green craft paint you used for the tiara. Form some green chenille stems into a circle and attach them to the wand with hot glue. Then attach any decorations you like, such as faux pearls and beads, to the chenille stems. Tie green ribbons to the wand where the chenille stems and dowel meet. Add sandals to make your Ariel mermaid Halloween costume complete.
