Disney Can Provide Your Wedding Gown for that Special Day

Disney may have made a fortune transforming little girls into princesses, well now they want to do the same for older girls. I'm sure on your wedding day you want to feel like a princess, well Disney can at least help you look like one. Disney has teamed up with bridal designer Kirstie Kelly to provide these princess inspired gowns. These unique gowns range in price from $1,100 to $3,000. The gowns are inspired by Cinderalla, Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine or Ariel.

The Cinderalla style gown comes in high shine satin with ball-gown skirts and makes generous use of silver embroidery and crystals. The Snow White style gown has a more conservative look. While the Ariel and Jasmine models are considerably racier. Ariel who played the title role in Little Mermaid has a sultry allure and is comfortable showing her body. Jasmine from Aladdin is a bohemian chic and the dresses inspired by her are big on sheath and lace. There will be variations of each dress. For instance Ariel's dresses come with or without straps and Cinderalla gowns have different patterns of embodied crystals. In all Disney will offer 34 different princess designs.

These new wedding gowns are going be available in North America on a made-to-order basis at bridal boutiques from June. Also they are an effort from Disney to extend its line of princess paraphernalia to older consumers. Disney Princess was created in 2001 when the company's consumer products division started packaging its female characters. Disney Princess has grown into a craze among little girls that is fast approaching a $3.5 billion from costumes, dolls. Bedroom furniture and other regalia. It was decided that the best way to reach outside the core crowd of 3 to 6 year olds, was through the women who have grown up with the characters. It seemed that brides were the obvious target.

Obviously the bride wants to look grown up, which is why the gowns are designed to capture the mood of a princess rather than exact replicas of the Disney's cartoon characters. The gowns feature conservative colors like ivory and champagne rather than the traditional colors of pinks, yellows and blues.

These dresses are not Disney's first venture into weddings as they have a popular wedding service at their theme parks. Recently Disney unveiled a new wedding planning service from celebrity planner David Tutera at a cost of $75,000 for 50 guests.

In October there will be more accessories including bridesmaid, flower-girl dresses as well as shoes coming next year. For the time being Disney is recommending existing brands of shoes for each outfit. Examples are Jimmy Choo for Cinderalla and London Sole ballet flats for Snow White.
