Disney Resort Refillable Mug FAQs

Refillable Mug Walt Disney

Amanda M. Rose
What is the Disney Refillable Resort Mug?

The Disney Refillable Resort Mug is an insulated mug themed with a Disney Character plastered on the side or may say the name of the Walt Disney Resort that you are staying at (each year a new series of mugs come out). The Disney Mugs have lids and handles, which come in different colors, which is great for families or groups that will need more than one mug to help tell which mug belongs to which person.

How much does the Disney Refillable Resort Mug cost?

The 2009 Disney Refillable Mugs cost $12.99 each, but with the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan, each person on one of these plans receives a complimentary Disney Resort Refillable Mug.

Is there any other options than soda available with the Disney Refillable Resort Mug?

Different resorts have different options, but generally you are able to fill the Disney Refillable Mugs with soda (Coke products), coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Most of the soda fountains give the option for Ice Tea or Lemonade.

What are the do's and don't's of Disney Refillable Resort Mugs?

Walt Disney World Resorts have posted a sign at the beverage dispensers at each resorts refillable station saying:

"Refillable mugs may be used at the resort where they were purchased, during the stay that they were purchased."

In theory this means that guests are not allowed to bring Disney Resort mugs from years past to refill during this stay, it means that you are only able to get drinks from the resort that the refillable mug was purchased from and that you are not able to use other soda stations at different Walt Disney World Resorts to fill your mug at.

While at Walt Disney World, either guests are ignoring the signs or are completely oblivious to the rules and you will often see people using mugs from years past, or see guests that are visiting from other resorts.

Disney Refillable Resort Mug Tips

  • Pack a soapy sponge in a ziploc bag for easy cleaning of the Disney Refillable Resort Mug after finishing a drink
  • If you don't take your Disney Refillable Resort Mug to the parks with you, fill it up before heading to the parks or at your afternoon break and pop it in your refrigerator so that you will have a cold drink when you get back to your room late at night
  • Bring a gallon size Ziploc bag to place the Disney Refillable Resort Mugs in when you finish your drinks while at the park - stops your entire bag from smelling like coffee.
  • Pour your soda from your counter service meal into the Disney Refillable Resort Mug to help keep it colder for a longer period of time.
  • Use the Disney Refillable Resort Mugs to mix cocktals for yourself while lounging at your Disney Resort's pool

These mugs are great and worth the money if you drink a lot of cokes while at WDW. Plus, they make great souvenirs. I use mine all the time at home for cokes or coffee. I plan on taking one on my upcoming cruise as well.
