Subsequently, the Liberty Tree Tavern, which was once known as a "must-do" on every trip, a restaurant that never had any tables available, and was booked up months in advance, has become a restaurant that has more empty seats than not every night, and has had a drop in revenue of a quarter million dollars in the months of January and February alone.
In considering the loss, Jim Hill reports on www.JimHillmedia.com, that Walt Disney World officials have gone back to the tables with the managers of Magic Kingdom, and have concluded that the only solution is to bring back the characters. While this talk did occur in early March, Disney has yet to make the announcement official. It is speculated that the managers will have to revise the global schedule bid for the theme park, putting in a request for the Cast Members that will be needed, and to offer the opportunity to cast members who had been long-time employees at the restaurant.
It is rumoured that the restaurant will be offering the Character Dining Experience again as soon as Easter, but many suggest that the experience will begin again in early fall.
The traditional Thanksgiving-fare is still offered for dinner. Each table has a large bowl of salad and a basket of warm buns brought to them when they arrive. Each table also receives a large platter filled with a generous serving of roasted turkey breast, carved beef and smoked pork loin is then added to the table, served along with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, herb bread stuffing and Stouffer's Mac'n'Cheese. Prices are currently at $28.99 for adults, $13.99 for children (aged 3-9).
Let's hope this is a rumour that is true and that Disney will revive the Liberty Tree Tavern to what it was just a couple months ago.

Post a CommentI don't know why they took the characters out of Liberty Tree Tavern, that was a huge perk for visiting for dinner.
Hope that Liberty Tree Tavern will bring characters back!
Good article
I have to get to Disney World. It sounds like so much fun.
You can't just get rid of Mickey and the gang that easy. That's a lot of money to lose in that short of period. Goes to show, it's not always about the food.
