Disney Snow White Halloween Costume Ideas

Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs remains a popular movie after its release over 70 years ago. Snow White contains many characters that would make creative and attractive Halloween costumes for both adults and children. Many of these Disney Halloween costumes are ones you can make quickly, cheaply and easily. Here are a few ideas for Snow White character costumes that are sure to please.

Disney Snow White Halloween Costume

To make your Disney Snow White Halloween costume, you'll need a long yellow skirt and some white petticoats. Then find or make a blue velvet or satin bodice top with short balloon sleeves. Add a white stand up collar to the back of the top. Cut out three slits on the outside of each sleeve and sew in some red fabric. Trim the bodice and sleeves with yellow fabric. If you have trouble finding the right costume pieces to make your Snow White Halloween costume, use a sewing pattern such as McCall's 8896. If your hair doesn't look like Snow White's, wear a short dark wig and style it into curls using sponge rollers. Tie a red ribbon in your hair. Keep your makeup simple and natural.

Disney Snow White Evil Queen Halloween Costume

To get started on a Disney evil queen Halloween costume from Snow White, find a long purple gown or bathrobe, preferably in velour. Attach bell sleeves in matching color. Add some white lining to the inside of the sleeves. Then find a long black cape and attach a white stand up collar. Draw a crown pattern on newspaper that's been folded in half. The 5 points of the evil queen's crown should be slightly above the base of the crown and should become gradually higher toward the center, where there is a single high point. Only draw half of the pattern, and make sure that the highest point on the crown is over the fold in the newspaper. Unfold the pattern, trace it over cardboard or card stock, cut it out and paint it gold. Attach a faux pearl to the top point of the crown with hot glue. Attach a gold-toned medallion to the closure of the cape. Put on pale foundation and powder and wear heavy red or pink lipstick and smokey blue eyeshadow. Tie a rope around your waist to make the evil queen costume complete.

Disney Snow White Dwarf Halloween Costumes

The seven dwarfs from Disney's Snow White are Grumpy, Happy, Sneezy, Bashful, Doc, Dopey and Sleepy. The seven dwarfs would make a great costume for a group of seven kids going out together on Halloween. The dwarfs each wear long sleeved button-down tunics, black belts with gold-toned belt buckles, brown pants, cloth slippers and elf caps. All but dopey have white beards. Doc wears small white-rimmed spectacles. You can afford to get creative with a Snow White seven dwarfs costume. Try mixing up the colors of the tunics and hats.

Disney Snow White Prince Halloween Costume

To make a Disney Snow White prince costume, find a white collarless long sleeved shirt. Then get a blue velour tunic with brown trim. If you can't find the right kind of tunic, you can adapt McCall's sewing pattern M5500 to make it yourself. Find a long brown cape or make it using a Butterick 5656 sewing pattern. If you choose to make your cape, use a light brown fabric for the outer cape, and a darker brown fabric for the lining. Attach two brown vinyl straps to the closure of the cape to wrap under the arms and around the back. Find some light blue tights or jogging pants and some light brown boots. Get a brown or gray belt and attach a holster on a strap. Insert a prop dagger into the holster.
