Disney World- Here We Come

Taking the Granddaughter to Disney for the First Time

Ellie is my first grandchild and she has taught me so much and brought me so much happiness.
My wife and I have been blessed to be allowed to experience her growing from the day she was born.
When she was an infant we helped her mom by babysitting 3 days a week while mom went to work.
I had the opportunity to come home at lunch and put her to sleep for her nap. Many days I fell asleep myself with her on my chest and took my own noonday nap before I had to head back to the office.
We have had numerous sleepovers and each one brings more joy because it is so exciting for us and we enjoy her so much.
She is now 5 ½ years old and in kindergarten and what a perfect age to go to Disney World. We were thrilled about 2 months ago when her mom offered to let us take her during her spring break. Really her mom asked if we were interested. Are you kidding Allison? I made all the arrangements and made her a calendar of events and a website with countdown calendar leading up to the big day.

I never had so much fun. So now the big day is here and we are flying off to Disney World. Gramps, Mimi, and Ellie are going to have a ball. All you grandparents out there no the joy and for those who aren't there yet you have a lot to look forward to.

"You will treasure time even more when you share it with your
grandchildren. And they will have something that very few children can
acquire now: someone else's time."
