Epcot is divided into two main areas; these areas are the World Showcase and Future World. World Showcase offers something the rest of Disney World doesn't: a chance to relax and shop in a variety of the most amazing shops available. Future World is entirely different offering a wide assortment of hands on activities and attractions. There are a number of exhibits, which focus on things like ocean life, space exploration, and the environment in general.
Land Pavilion - This is the largest pavilion in Future World and is close to six acres in size. Included are: many rides, shops, the Sunshine Seasons food court, as well as the newest attraction Soarin'.
Environmental responsibility is the name of the game at the Harvest Theatre where twenty minutes will get you a film combining live action and animation starring the Lion King. The show also features the song Circle of Life.
The Living with the Land boat ride is a fully automated ride that brings in human interaction with nature. The ride itself is updated periodically to handle changing trends and lasts for approximately fourteen minutes. The show depicts everything from living laboratories, to developments in desert farming as well as experimental greenhouses.
The guided Behind the Seeds Tour is one that will appeal to anyone who is interested in gardening. This tour includes an up close and personal look several of the greenhouses that make up the Living With the Land attraction at Epcot. The Epcot science team tries to portray the struggles of the past and plans for future farming, which include hydroponics, aero phonics and aquaculture. These greenhouses are also suppliers for the Disney World restaurants so you can enjoy looking at the process and touring the grounds before enjoying some of the produce with your lunch or dinner.
Epcot's simulator attraction/movie Soarin' made its debut in 2001, and it consists of a glider tour which can hold eighty-seven guests at time shows famous California landmarks such as the Napa Valley, Disneyland Park, and Yosemite in addition to others. The attraction also includes additional sensory stimuli in the form of scents that are indigenous to the various regions explored in the attraction.
All in all, Disney World's The Land consists of everything having to do with the ways of tomorrow and how science and technology are coming together to create better ways and more innovative ways of providing for the worlds needs at the same time it protects or minimize damage to the environment. The entire park is designed as an educational center to bring about awareness into various topics of importance to the world in general at the same time providing activities that are as fun as they are informative.
