We had 4 adults and 2 children so we booked one of their more spacious rooms. The room consists of two separate bedrooms a small living room and a kitchen.
One room has two queen sized beds, the other a King. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom attached. The living room has a pull out queen sized bed. We had six people but could've fit two more on the pull out bed.
The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, stove top burners and a dishwasher. When we vacation we look for kitchen areas in hotels because by eating in we save a lot of money. Eating inside the Disneyland park just wasn't something we could afford.
The main floor of the hotel has a huge dining area that could easily accommodate 100 people or more. Every morning from 7:00 to 10:30 there is a full sized breakfast served. By full sized I mean eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, muffins, fruit, basically anything you can imagine. There's decent coffee, of course, as well as a full assortment of juices and even soda pop. This was a great start to every busy Disneyland day.
We visited Disneyland in early March. I don't know if this is typical but on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Staybridge Suites there was a happy hour of sorts in the lobby. Starting at 5:30 on Tuesday there was complimentary beer, wine and cheese and crackers. This lasted until 7:30. On Wednesday they served beer and wine, hotdogs and hamburgers. They grilled on the outside gas grills which are also available for guests to use at anytime. On Thursday they again had free beer and wine and added chips and salsa with coldcuts.
Behind the grilling area there is a large heated outside swimming pool with lots of lounge chairs. On the backside of the pool is a good sized hot tub. The pool and tub are shared with the adjoining Holiday Inn, so they can get crowded.
Off the lobby area of the Staybridge Suites there is a business center which consists of a large table and chairs a video screen, and two internet connected computers. Every time I used the computers, which wasn't often, they were slow and clunky, but they allowed me to check my email. A better option would have been a laptop. The grounds have wireless internet connections.
There is also a fitness center off the lobby which has treadmills, exercise bikes and some machine weight sets. I didn't use this facility but my wife did, and she reported that most of the machines, treadmills and bikes, didn't operate correctly. In fact she ended up heading to a fitness club to get her workout.
Every morning we caught the shuttle bus which does circuits back and forth between the Disneyland parks. They advertise that there is a bus every 20 minutes starting at around 8 AM. However the route takes at least a half hour to complete. We found the bus schedule hard to follow but we never waited longer than 15 minutes. We walked the 4 blocks once, but it took longer than expected, wasn't very attractive scenery and wore the kids out. I wouldn't recommend it. Riding the bus was a much better choice even with the somewhat random schedule.
Overall staying at the Staybridge Suites in Anaheim, California, was a great experience for us. The biggest plus was the awesome breakfasts and the great midweek food and spirits. When we return to the Disneyland area we will definitely stay at the Staybridge Suites.
