Are you looking for a new way to experience you next visit to Disneyland Resort. You have seen the shows, done the rides, and eaten your way thru the parks. What is next you ask? How about trying a tour. Yes, you heard correctly. Take a tour! Disneyland Resort offers a variety of tours for both the novice and experienced Disneyland visitor. There are five different tours to choose from ranging in price from $20 per person to $95 per hour with a 4 hour minimum.

If you are new to Disneyland you might want to try the "Welcome to Disneyland Tour". This tour is a fabulous way to begin your Disneyland vacation. You will be taken on a 2-1/2 hour guided tour of Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney. You will be provided with all the information you need to have to make the most out of your visit. The tour begins in Disneyland Park and includes three attractions, VIP viewing for a stage show or parade, something sweet at the Candy Palace, Priority seating arrangements for select dining for any day of your stay, and two free FASTPASS' to enjoy after your tour. This tour is usually offered daily at begins at 10am with a maximum of twenty people on the tour. The cost is $25 per person, $20 per person if you are a AAA member or have are a Disney Visa card holder.

For the Disney fanatic that can never get enough information and Disney tidbits the "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps' " tour is for you. This tour is 3-1/2 hours long, covers the life of Walt Disney and how he made his vision a reality. You get to explore Disneyland while the host/hostess tells you stories about the "man behind the magic". You will hear behind the scenes secretes of the various lands, you will see what special enhancements were done by both the imaginears and Walt Disney himself. This tour also includes passage on the Disneyland Railroad, a private viewing at the lobby of the famed Club 33 where you will be able to step inside the elevator and take pictures, an exclusive collectible trading pin, and a private lunch on the patio of the Disney Gallery. Your menu choices are Chili Cornbread Souffle (a Walt Disney favorite), Greek Salad, Cobb Salad, Turkey and Bacon Cheddar Croissant, Hawaiian Chicken Salad Sandwich, or an Albacore Salad Sandwich. The meal also comes with a beverage and dessert. tours are Monday through Thursday at 9am and Friday through Sunday at 9am and 2:30pm. The maximum number of people on this tour is 15. The cost is $59 per person. Disney Visa Card Holders, Deluxe/Premium Annual Pass Holders, and AAA members are $47.20 per person. This tour is best for adults and older children.

Disneyland's "Discover the Magic Tour" is a wonderful 3 hour tour for kids and kids at heart. You will go on a scavenger hunt and follow musical clues. You will solve mysteries to find a hidden treasure. You will learn how to outwit a villain, proper etiquette if you meet a Disney Princess, and save the day by helping out none other than Mickey Mouse. Your host guides you on this tour and several Disney Characters join in the fun along the way. The tour includes lunch and a special souvenir gift. Tour dates and times vary depending on the season. Make sure you call up to 30 days ahead of time to reserve a spot for you and your entire family. The cost is $59 per person. Disney Visa Card Holders and AAA members pay $47.20 per person. This tour is highly recommended for families with kids ranging from five to ten years old.

If you want to do your own thing, or learn about something specific try a "VIP Tour". This tour lets you experience Disneyland Resort in a new way. You are guided with a personal ambassador. This person will customize your visit by arranging special seating for parades, live stage shows, and restaurants throughout the resort. The are professional and knowledgeable. As you walk along they will share with you their own personal insights and experiences. Ask the questions you want, see the things you want to see. This tour is whatever you make of it. If you want trivia, then trivia you get. If you want to know about plant life, then that's what you get. What you do not get however are front of the line ride privileges or special back stage sneak peeks. To arrange for this tour you can call up to 90 days in advance, put at least 72 hours ahead of time is required. The tour can take up to ten people. The cost is $75 per hour with a four hour minimum with advanced scheduling. If you book the tour withing 48 hours (and you are very lucky if you do) the cost will be $95 per hour with the same four hour minimum. You may also request a particular tour guide but Disney does not guarantee that you will get this person.

The newest and hippest tour at Disneyland Resort is "Cruizin' Disney's California Adventure Park" tour. This tour is three hours long and you meet bright and early at 7:15am. On this tour you get to hop on a Segway and tour Disney's California Adventure before the park even opens. First you will get instructions on how to ride your Segway, next you get to go thru an outdoor obstacle course. Once you have mastered the Segway you will be on your way far an unforgettable guided tour. This tour includes a collectible gift, souvenir photo, continental breakfast, and all-day parking at Downtown Disney. This tour also comes with certain restrictions. You have to be under 250 pounds to ride, must be at least 16 years old with a parent or guardian, all guests must sign a liability waiver, and admission to the Park is required. The tour can accommodate up to twelve guests. The cost is $99 per person or $79 per person if you are a Premium or Deluxe Annual Passholder.

Finally, Disneyland offers a "Holiday Time at Disneyland" tour that is filled with holiday history, legends, and customs throughout the world. You have the opportunity to learn how these traditions are a part of Disneyland's holiday heritage. The 2-1/2 tour includes express boarding for "It's a Small World Holiday" and "Haunted Mansion Holiday", you get reserved seating for "A Christmas Fantasy Parade, a surprise treat, and a commemorative pin. The tours are offered daily at 10am with a maximum of twenty guests per tour. This is of course only offered seasonally. The cost is $59 per person.

So next time you visit the Happiest Place on Earth try a tour. While the rides are fun, the food fabulous, and the entertainment delightful, a tour will increase your appreciation for this magical place.
