Tim Burton & Walt Disney

Before Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, and Helena Bonham Carter there was Walt Disney along with Ed Wynn, Sterling Holloway, Kathryn Beaumont, Richard Haydn, Jerry Colonna, Verna Felton, J. Pat O'Malley, Bill Thompson and even an uncredited performance by Mel Blanc in the 1951 Disney classic, "Alice in Wonderland." Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, Disney's epic live-action fantasy adventure has is being released in a one-of-a-kind 60th Anniversary Special Edition "Alice in Wonderland" Blu-ray & DVD Combo Pack on February 1st, 2011 featuring new high-definition and crystal clear sound.

Disney's Alice in Wonderland

"Alice in Wonderland" follows Alice's adventures as she chases the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole. Alice, who who dreams of a world where animals can speak, takes a magical journey into the fantastical world of Wonderland which gets "curiouser and curiouser" as Alice repeatedly changes sizes and then meets the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and more. Alice discovers common sense is often preferable to fantasy as she meets one silly character after another.

Alice in Wonderland in the 21st Century

Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" has pleased the eyes and ears of young and old alike for generations, but will it survive the entertainment-saturated 21st century?

Alice in Wonderland -- Colorful& Full of Songs & Whimsy

The movie is colorful and full of songs, and parts of the film are amusing and clever, so Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" should definitely appeal to young children who enjoy colorful cartoons. However, much like Disney's "Snow White," older children may find "Alice" a bit tedious as the adventure is overshadowed by song and whimsy -- 75 minutes of song and whimsy, as well as human characters that all seem to have the same pronounced gaping mouths and jaws. Some of Disney's "Alice in Wonderland" is just silly -- which is the point of Wonderland and the catalyst for Alice to discover the benefits of logic.

Directed by Walt Disney

Directed by Walt Disney himself who had dreamed of doing "Alice in Wonderland" for many years, the movie and its animation are often regarded as some of the finest work produced by the Disney studio. Family friendly and kid friendly, Disney's 60th Anniversary Special Edition "Alice in Wonderland" is definitely worth adding to the family movie library.
