The décor is set up in African safari theme with art and exhibits all around. If you visit during the holiday season, you'll be treated to an animal themed Christmas tree. There are two African themed restaurants, Jiko a sit down restaurant and Bauma a buffet with fabulous desserts! Jiko offers unique fair and even a selection of African wines. The Mara is traditional American food if you're looking for more familiar fare. There is also a culinary tour which offers interesting information on African and Indian foods. Room service is always an option if you would prefer to dine in your room.
For those looking for a relaxing treat or looking to stay in shape, Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge also hosts a health club and spa. If playing is more your style, you'll enjoy the large oasis like pool and waterslide. The unique entry to the pool makes this a special one. Enjoy a drink at the pool bar or splash with your younger ones in the wading pool. There's even a playground near the pool called the Hakuna Matata Playground.
Little ones ages four through twelve can have fun at Simba's Clubhouse while mom and dad enjoy a massage over at the Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center or a romantic dinner. There are plenty of activities scheduled to keep the kids entertained.
Don't forget a souvenir from the gift shop. Animal carvings, masks and more can all be found. Find your treasure to take home and remember your trip.
Leave your car at home; at the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus transportation is available to all of Walt Disney World's parks, waterparks and Downtown Disney shopping area.
Walt Disney's Magical Express will even pick you up at the airport and deliver your luggage to your room, as well as return you to the airport on your departure.
Prices range from $205 a night and up.
