Things that triggered Sybil's personalities were white hair, disinfectant, squeaks, classical music, and hooks.
2. Describe Sybil's major Personalities.
Vickie- She is the narrator and knows all of the personalities. She is the one that controls them all. Vickie can speak French fluently.
Peggy- There are two Peggy's but the first one cries a lot and acts like a child. The other personality of Peggy is a sort of older mad angry personality.
Marsh- Marsh is the suicidal personality of Sybil who is ready to end it all.
Vanessa- This personality is the one that is into art and music and always wears a fluffy scarf.
Mary- She is an imitation of her grandmother and is an older woman.
3. List physical symptoms that were inflicted on Sybil.
When she as flash backs and remembers the past she becomes tense, she groans, cries, throws and rips things apart, gets a sore throat, and also feels hate towards those who are around her.
4. How did Dr. Quinnonus complicate Sybil's life?
She brought back memories of her past, which caused her to go into her personalities. Dr. Quinnonus also began to introduce the different personalities to each other, which cause huge problems for Sybil.
5. Why didn't Willard observe and intervene on behalf of Sybil?
Willard did not know that these problems were going on and had no clue about the horrible things that his wife did to Sybil. Sybil's mother also threatened that if she were to tell Willard that she would kill her.
6. Why is Haties the problem?
She tortures Sybil's endlessly. She trips Sybil yell at Sybil constantly. She also hits her all of the time and sexually abuses her. Sybil was found to have burns on her hand, a broken larynx, a broken collarbone, beans up her nose, and torn ligaments. Haties was an extremely abusive mother.
7. Guards around the Palace-
This statement means that the personalities perfect Sybil her original personality that she was born with.
8. Mental Partitions-
Mental partitions keep her personalities separated from each other like horse stalls in a barn were the personalities couldn't talk to watch other.
9. Memories are frozen-
Each personality has there own memories and the personalities can never share memories,
10. Controlling Personality-
This is the narrator or the teacher that over sees all of the personalities. In this case Sybil's' controlling personality is Vicky.
11. Integrated Individual-
This is when all of the personalities come together to create one personality.
12. Birth Personality-
The original personality that a person is born with. In this case the original personality would be Sybil.
13. Amnesiac Barriers-
These barriers make you forget things that have happened to you.
14. Catharsis-
It is when you come to the center of your problems.
