Post a CommentI have only recently started writing poetry and have used AC as a way to express myself in that way, even though my smart alec side has always been able to throw out many a limerick over the years. Aside from that, I tend to be quite verbose, so haiku has "forced" me (by its convention) to say what I want to say in a simple 17 syllables. Yours is simple and to the point, with no room for the "distant one" to say he doesn't get it. Keep writing, sister!
I luv reading haiku's! Plz check out my latest article and vote for it if you think it's helpful: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2548743/save_money_with_the_best_satellite.html?cat=40
I would really appreciate it! C.
You have really captured a powerful feeling in so few words. I have been there!
Okay, now I "get" haikus as a mode of expression. This is the first one that "spoke" to me with more than just seventeen syllables.
Good job! I admire haiku writers that can put so much into so little - like this one. :D
I experienced this a long time ago. It's not a very nice feeling, is it? I hope your "distant" friend comes back to the neighborhood real soon. Love is a round-trip ticket, hang in there. Cheers.
Great and strong peom, thanks Laura Rousseau.
Suddenly distant, sometimes just needs their space! Very good, Laura!
These three little lines literally made me stop and catch my breath -- very powerful writing.
