DIS-tortion

Angry Sar
It happened slowly, but suddenly I was 13 again,
afraid to speak or smile or use the phone
or cry for help or hate you more than words

Distorted by something I simply don't have,
you go on becoming continually better,
I accelerating blindly in reverse behind you,
into a brick wall with all the bells and whistles

Disenchanted, disheartened, confused
I long for a happier day just months ago
when I could count on you, wait for you, believe in you
to come over and make things right.

Now I only have myself,
and she is someone I have learned to mistrust.

"Angry Sar" is just my radio name and pen name (rhymes with Alice in Chains' song "Angry Chair"), my real name is Sarah Lindsted. I am a 26 year old singer/songwriter, guitarist and poet from Wichita, KS.  View profile

Thank you :-) And thanks for reading, I'm glad you liked it.

This is so well done. The last two lines are so poignant: " Now I only have myself, and she is someone I have learned to mistrust."
