Disturbed Cancels Tour Dates

Chicago based hard rock outfit Disturbed has announced that they have been forced to cancel their forthcoming tour dates because lead vocalist David Draiman has been diagnosed with a serious throat condition.

The illness is not suspected to be permanent but Draiman must stop performing for at least four weeks in order for it to heal.

Refunds for the shows are available at point of purchase.

The tour was scheduled to make a stop in Detroit on Friday, October 15 at the Fillmore.

According to tour promoter LiveNation, the unspecified "condition" is not permanent, but Draiman did undergo a successful surgery in 2006 to fix a deviated septum which was making breathing difficult and affecting his vocal abilities on stage

Disturbed recently released their fifth studio album, Asylum, which was the fourth consecutive studio album to debut at Number 1 for the band; a feat that was achieved by only two other rock bands in history.

Asylum sold 179,000 sold units in the first week of release.
