In the original "Endless Ocean," the plot felt more like an afterthought while the game's amazing experience was centerpiece of the release. In the sequel, "Endless Ocean: Blue World," that experience from the first game is built upon even further. 'Blue World' engages in more adventure than the first, from calming and escaping vicious sharks to treasure hunts and massive shipwrecks. 'Blue World' also has a bit more of a plot this time around as well, while still maintaining the free-roaming spirit of the first game.
Graphics
"Endless Ocean: Blue World" has made some noticeable changes in its graphics, compared to the original, it is perhaps by far the most noticeable change about the game. Every species, creature, and underwater (and surface) element has been completely revamped. There's a lot more fish to look at this time around and an entire ensemble of gorgeous colors. Despite some minor frame-rate blips and animation glitches, the graphics are beautiful.
Gameplay
The environments of 'Blue World' are bigger than the first and contain more variety to select from; there's over six completely different locales around the globe that you can venture across, be it on land or underwater. Hunt various treasure with an improved yet still challenging detector; the plot has added more guidance this time with the help of in-game map markers. Expect no invisible walls this time around, these have all been replaced by map boundaries; bare in mind that you can't dive at certain areas as opposed to leaving your boat wherever you please. If you want to purchase new items, you don't need to pass a certain mission to obtain it, just earn enough money. When it comes down to investigating, the above surface environments are just as important as the ones down below. The only downside to the gameplay is that using your own music while playing is no longer an option.
Controls
The one annoying thing that remains unchanged from the original is the weird camera control system. It's still a pain to point your Wii remote around the edges of your game screen, considering the slow process that it is, even though you get used to it as you continue playing along. All camera issues, controlling your movements, inventory, and item usages all work perfectly.
Overall
"Endless Ocean: Blue World" isn't just a re-imaging of the original but a totally new creature of its own design and making. This sequel is a far more attractive game that feeds equal attention to both the plot, challenge, and adventure aspects of this game series. 'Blue World' tries to make everything as less difficult than the first as possible with every chance that it gets. This is a must buy for everyone who loved the first one; newcomers, I encourage you to take a dive in this massive aquatic masterpiece of a video game.
