Diverse Celebrity Apprentice 2010 Cast

Meet the 2010 Cast of Celebrity Apprentice

Wendy Dawn
It's almost time for The Donald to be back with a new season of Celebrity Apprentice. This year the producers of 2010 Celebrity Apprentice have gone all out to gather a posse of diverse has-been pop stars, sports stars, and criminals. It is an attempt to appeal to various segments of viewers to get them interested in the Apprentice, which has gone downhill since it has gone "Celebrity."

I will watch the 2010 season of Celebrity Apprentice and enjoy every minute of stress, egoism, and tension that Donald can stir up among the celebrities. One fun thing about the show is that you get past the celebrity façade and learn a lot about them as people when they are forced to work together in stressful circumstances.

Let's take a peek at this year's Celebrity Apprentice players.

Musicians on Celebrity Apprentice 2010

Bret Michaels is a super-star singer, best known for taking the lead of rock band Poison. Michaels is also a writer and producer. I expect him to be focused and emerge as a leader because he is able to keep his cool. He was a flake on Bret Michaels Rock of Love, but with another television show in the pipe he has more than his charity on the line. He needs to reignite interest in himself for his new show.

I had to laugh when I saw Cyndi Lauper on the list of celebrities. It's nothing personal, but my image of her is stuck in the 80s. For all she knows, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. The image of Cyndi Lauper has remained static in my head, but she has ploughed forward continuing a successful career. Lauper, like Michaels, also needs to renew the vitality of her presence, as she is releasing a new album later this year.

Sharon Osbourne isn't a musician, but she has a long history in music and television. She is a music manager and tough as nails. Perhaps that comes from living with a zombie of a former musician, husband Ozzie Osbourne. Sharon is smart, and I look for her to last the season. She may also add some spice, because while she is charming and demure, if you press the wrong button she has a quite a temper.

Sports stars on Celebrity Apprentice 2010

Darryl Strawberry is a former baseball player for the Mets, Dodgers, and Yankees. Darryl Strawberry is active on behalf of the Yankees and known for his current involvement in community service. In the past, the world watched as Darryl Strawberry struggled with addictions that beat him down. He has fought long and hard to get his life back together. Maybe he has the tenacity to stick it out this season with Donald Trump.

Bill Goldberg is a giant among wrestlers. In fact, he is just a giant. He started out in football and made his way into the ring to defeat superstar wrestler Hulk Hogan. Goldberg became a superstar in his own right. In addition to dominating the ring, he has made appearances in several movies. Goldberg is a huge man with a huge heart. If his drive and determination don't keep him out of the boardroom, perhaps his size and intimidation factor will.

Maria Kanellis is also a professional wrestler appearing this season. I don't think Kanellis will last long. All I can think of was the female wrestler who appeared on Survivor and was one of the first to capitulate to the stress and living conditions. They have what it takes in the ring, but the business world isn't a wrestling ring. It's an ocean of sharks. I think one big bite can take Kanellis down.

Michael Johnson is an Olympic Gold Medal Sprinter. He made history at the 1996 Olympics and from there became a motivational speaker. Johnson says of himself that he is organized and focused. We will have to see if he can go the distance with endurance on 2010 Celebrity Apprentice.

Another Olympian will have to prove that she can swim with sharks to make it through the season. Summer Sanders is an Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer who has, since her big wins, become a sports news correspondent. Hopefully, she can rely on past victories and revive the spirit of a winner.

Comedians on Celebrity Apprentice 2010

Following Joan Rivers hellacious season on Celebrity Apprentice last year, which she won, it is not surprising to see two comedians on the list of 2010 Celebrity Apprentice contestants.

Sinbad created a tremendous stir with a television special last week. Social networks were abuzz about Sinbad. Here's to Sinbad's return to stand-up comedy and hoping he can bring some levity to the tense fundraisers and boardroom meetings held by Donald Trump. Sinbad has always been a crowd pleaser. I hope his appearance on the show helps encourage his comeback to comedy.

Sinbad has a female counterpart in Carol Leifer. Leifer is a comedian and a writer. She has appeared in a multitude of venues and on late night shows having worked the stand-up comedy circuit. Among her greatest career achievements are writing and producing for Seinfeld. I look forward to her bringing personality and laughs to the show.

Bad Boys and Girls on Celebrity Apprentice 2010

Donald Trump always has to have a looker on the show. This season is no different as he has employed Selita Ebanks, a Victoria Secret Angel. I'm all for a beautiful woman competing and winning, but historically the prettier they are, they worse they have performed on Celebrity Apprentice.

I'm certain that there are many beautiful women with the brains to make it through the tasks, dog fights, and boardrooms. Perhaps Selita Ebanks will the woman who can do that. I'd like to see it happen, because brains and beauty can go together.

The 2010 Celebrity Apprentice bad boy is the former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich. Blagojevich has been accused of corruption for selling former President Obama's former Senate seat to the highest bidder. If he can't cheat, he'll be one of the first men down.

Other Celebrity Apprentice Players 2010

Holly Robinson Peeke is an actress who has performed in a variety of small roles, one of them in 21 Jump Street opposite Johnny Depp. Holly is also featured in a number of commercials, but her passion is being a spokesperson for autism. This likely helped her land a spot on Celebrity Apprentice.

Curtis Stone, celebrity chef will be the hottie for women to enjoy this season. A man with rugged good looks, who knows how to cook, and speaks with an Australian accent will capture women's attention any day. He'll be raising money to help feed the hungry, and judging from the field of contenders he should have a decent shot at lasting on Celebrity Apprentice. If nothing else, he'll be entertaining to watch.

2010 Celebrity Apprentice Predictions

This is NOT a spoiler. It is based on a broad look at the players on Celebrity Apprentice 2010. I look for Sharon Osbourne to be the woman to beat. She is smart and tough. I'd like to see it come down to a showdown between Osbourne and Curtis Stone for the Celebrity Apprentice 2010 grand finale.

I'll be blogging recap and reviews, so come back to follow the show, fight for your favorite Celebrity Apprentice, and leave your observations and comments.

The men and women are equally balanced, musician for musician, comedian for comedian, Olympian for Olympian, but matched careers doesn't mean anything when it comes to the competition among Celebrity Apprentice 2010 cast.

Great article, however, one question: Why did Sinbad ever leave comedy?
