Divinity Rising: Anchors Away!

So, I missed a newsletter last week, because my computer "ated" it. I'm sorry. I was a bit down about losing the whole thing and let that be an excuse to slack off and not rewrite it. I assure you it was a quite brilliant piece about existing as energy - but ONWARD HO!

Let's play pretend. "OOOOH! ROLE PLAYING!" You shout. Well, okay - sure, something like that. This week we are role playing with - *insert dramatic music- Discipline. (Not cuffs and shackles discipline, you freaks!) We're going to pretend we're ships on a sea.

We are a sea of information within. Our life is a navigation through information, and our outward travels reflect our inward travels. Our ability to be in a state of happiness and fully in the moment depends on our ability to consciously navigate our ships. When we fail to take time to be still and clean out all the stimuli we take in throughout the day, our ship is left to bounce around on choppy waves. ( see earlier column "Eww, what's in the pool" ). When we are not disciplined in guiding our thought power, we let our energy run wild through the information within us. Instead of navigating to thoughts that serve us and what we want, we sometimes find ourselves in dark areas.

!We've gottah' problem capt'n! We can't seem to steer this thing!"

(Please forgive my poor impersonation. - I am quite boggled on how to type a Scottish accent. Send me any suggestions.)

When we meet a person or experience a situation, we immediately begin to store information about them within, making them a part of our inner landscape. If we have a problem with someone, we store that "negative" information within us. That negative imprint becomes a part of us, much like an anchor that continues to keep a ship from straying too far. We find our thoughts keep being pulled back. Every time we allow our energy to run across the information of that person, it will bring up conflict within us. In other words, every time we see that person again or think of them, it will bring us to a "conflict". The same thing happens when something triggers a memory of a certain experience. To put it simply - It will make us feel icky.

"You just sunk my battleship!"

FEAR NOT! Your ship hasn't sunk, yet!You can find smooth sailing again! Conflict is a chance for healing. Once you realize you feel bad, you have been given a point to navigate towards. When you find the information that is making you feel bad, you can say, "oh", and come to a different understanding of the person or experience. Then, you can let the anchor go. You have to deal with it and find a way to be okay with that person or situation. The more you can forgive and love unconditionally, the less you'll find yourself held back by these anchors.

"Right, so what's this go to do with whips and chains...errrr....discipline," you may be wondering.

There are so many things to pull us off center - away from what we want - to tempt us to fear, to distrust, to not love or accept, to not follow our hearts ....How can discipline help us to navigate better? With discipline, we can make sure we find time to be still, and choose what direction to steer ourselves. It is much easier to navigate still waters. With discipline, we can learn to choose how we store information. Every time we feel tempted to label a situation, it helps to remember that the information will change us forever.

Sound serious? We make ourselves with the information we choose to hold onto. No matter what masses of people believe/create/discover your experience is limited to your beliefs/what you choose to observe and patterns are formed from previous experience. How can we begin new patterns that will shape a world that we can love?

I believe in all of you and know that you are all exactly where you are supposed to be at this very moment in your journey. I know things are being brought to the forefront of your mind. Can you find a way to change the way they shape you by trying to react differently? I pray that you will see the steering wheel in front of you and find yourself headed for the shores of the most beautiful dream you can imagine. I know that as we increase our discipline in shooting for the stars, we'll find our ships lifting from the waters and floating ever upward.

Dream well, dream deep and may all paths lead you back to the heart.

It was in the Valley of Shadows that I found the land of whispers.

Through it all, I've learned my journey has been to learn to be more human. We are not here to learn how to be unhuman, but rather, to learn the full potential of human.

Can you grasp the amazing miracle of life on earth? One being living out billions of lives simultaneously. It makes my head want to pop.

The voice in my head says some cool stuff, but sometimes makes me wait months for the "to be continued".

At some point, I've had all 7 major demons along for the ride, they're just not allowed to drive anymore.

Monthly Speak Easy is December 18th!! Doomsday Lover, Ron Whitehead, Downtown Lights,

Every Thursday at 8 pm will be an open mic/arts and entertainment networking event at Carly Rae's on the corner of First and Oak st! It's a beautiful spot, with the perfect environment for a Speak Easy. Once a month, we will host a showcase with local art, a featured poet, and a featured music act followed by open stage. The awesome news is that the featured artist, poet AND musician will be paid! HURRAH! One giant leap for the open mic community! The featured artists, etc will be chosen from those that attend the open mic throughout the month.
