Divorce and Daddy's Girl

For the Love of Daddy's Little Girl

M.G. Laskey
In his eyes alone
shes capable of no wrong
neither is he able to do in her own
Tightly does she string
that thread that binds &
sweetly does she smile all the while
In the twinkle of her eyes
dad's love is reflected
yet they speak no warmth
to the mother rejected
Emotions controlled by confusion
Leave her mind clouded with
fear and delusion
Swelling up with judgment and hate
the daughter retaliates
Not knowing what more to do
mom whispers one more "I love you"!
she kisses daddy's little girl goodbye
waiting till theyre out of sight to cry

It is a very touching poem and shows great depth for the little girl's feelings that are still alive in a grown girl's body.

Wow this is touching! Me being a Daddy's girl until I got a step Mom :)... I can relate. Then on the flipside, I want my daughter to be a Daddy's girl, in which she isn't. Very good...

such a tender poem, either by one who is the mother or the child, or both, very well expressed.
